본 연구에서는 2001년 개발을 시작으로 학교도서관의 자료 관리를 해결하고, 자료의 공동 활용을 위한 데이터 구축을 지원해 온 DLS의 근본적인 문제점을 조사하고, 이를 해결할 수 있는 개선방안을 모색하고자 한다. 연구방법으로 DLS 전문위원 9명을 대상으로 자료선정, 자료등록, 대출반납, 장서점검, 통계, 이용자검색의 6가지 영역에서 DLS의 사용현황과 문제점을 조사하고 이를 해결할 개선방안을 제안하였다. 자료선정 측면에서는 수서시스템 도입 및 온라인 희망도서 구입신청 기능 추가가 필요하다. 자료등록 측면에서는 데이터 품질 관리 향상과 검색기능 향상을 위한 색인어의 체계적 입력 및 어휘통제가 필요하다. 대출반납 측면에서는 대출속도 향상이, 장서점검 측면에서는 폐기자료의 복원 기능이, 통계 측면에서는 정확한 통계자료 생성이 필요하다. 이용자검색에서는 검색속도 향상 및 이용자 인터페이스 기능 향상이 필요하다. 본 연구는 앞으로 DLS 시스템 개선에 많은 기여를 할 것이며 이에 따라 DLS 이용도 향상될 것이다.
Abstract
This study was to suggest the problems and the improvement plan of Digital Library System (DLS) which has solved the library management and has supported the data building for resource sharing in school libraries since 2001. The 9 DLS committees were interviewed about the current situation of DLS use and the problems of DLS system in the 6 areas of acquisition, cataloging, circulation and discharge, inventory, library statistics, and searching interface as the research methods. Based on the interviews, the improvement plans were suggested as followed. In acquisition, it was to need the acquisition system development and online purchase for users. In cataloging, the improvement of data quality management, and indexes and vocabularies control for upgrade of searching function were needed. The advanced circulation speed in circulation, the restoration of discarded data in inventory and the exact statistic data in library statistics were need to improve the DLS. This study would contribute to the betterment of DLS and increase the use of DLS.

강의별학술정보페이지는 하나의 게이트웨이에서 강의정보와 도서관자원을 통합하여 제공하는 서비스로 대학도서관의 정보서비스를 더욱 강화시킬 수 있다. 이는 여러 검색게이트를 갖는 기존의 도서관 자료 제공방식과 달리 강의별 맞춤 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 강의관리시스템과 연계하여 강의와 도서관자원을 더욱 밀접하게 연계시킬 수 있다. 국외 대학도서관의 경우 강의별학술정보페이지를 대학의 특성에 맞게 다양한 내용으로 구축하며, 대학에 개설된 전체 강의에 대한 페이지를 구축하기 위해 수작업이 아닌 자동화 처리 프로그램을 도입하거나 개발하고 있다. 따라서 강의별학술정보페이지 구축 프로그램도 자체 개발 혹은 상업 벤더시스템 등으로 다양하다. 하지만, 국내에서는 강의별학술정보페이지 개발이 활성화되고 있지 않으며, 시스템 개발에 대한 구축방안도 모색되지 않고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 문헌연구와 사례조사 방법을 이용해 국내 대학도서관의 적극적인 서비스 방안의 하나인 강의별학술정보페이지 구축 방안을 제안한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 강의별학술정보페이지 구축 방안을 통해 도서관의 적극적 서비스를 마련할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Library course pages are an integrated service providing both course management information and library resources as one gateway to strengthen university libraries' information services. It is possible to associate course management system and library resources, and to provide course-specific information rather than library interface with various searching gateways. In the case of foreign university libraries, library course pages have been developed more effectively and variously for university's environment and characteristics, and have been built for all the courses in a university by system processing, not manually. In foreign libraries, there are many sophisticated, dynamic, database-driven house-developed and vendor- developed systems for library course pages than hand coded HTML pages. But in Korea, there is a lack of awareness of the importance of library course pages among librarians, and the programs of library course pages have not yet been developed. Therefore, this study is to build the model for library course pages using literature reviews and case studies. Then, this study could also lay the foundation for effective library services and the system development of library course pages.
