오픈액세스의 기본적인 정신은 법적, 경제적, 기술적 장벽없이 전세계 누구나 학술정보를 공유함으로써 학술정보유통 활성화에 기여하고자 함이다. 이를 실현하기 위한 전략으로서 기관리포지터리가 있다. 본 연구는 국내에서의 기관리포지터리 성공을 위한 주요 요인들을 도출하여 오픈액세스 기반 학술정보유통 활성화에 필요한 기초자료를 마련하는데 그 목적이 있다. 구체적으로 문헌조사, 사례연구를 통하여 기관리포지터리 성공요인을 도출하였으며, 관련 분야 전문가와 심층면담을 통해 요인을 검증하였다. 그 결과는 조직적 요인과 정책적 요인, 그리고 기술적 요인으로 구분할 수 있었다. 조직적 요인에는 기관장의 적극적 의지가 포함된다. 정책적 요인에는 핵심콘텐츠 선정, 품질통제 수준의 최소, 저작권보호, 적극적 홍보를 통한 옹호집단구성, 장기보존, 인센티브, 의무조항이 포함된다. 기술적 요인에는 제출방식의 편이성, 상호운영성 지원, 저작활동 지원이 포함된다.

Abstract

One of the main goals of providing open access is to vitalize the exchange of academic information by allowing access to the scholarly research outputs for everyone without the legal, financial, and technical barriers. We regard the use of the institutional repository as an open access enabler. In this study, we tried to make the factors, which enable the successful deployment of the institutional repository, explicit. We utilized literature review and case studies to generate the potential success factors for the institutional repository deployment. We verified the factors by having in-depth interviews with the subject matter experts. The resulting factors were organized as organizational, political, and technical ones. The organizational factors included the strong open access support by the organization heads. Under the policy factors, a number of issues such as selection of the core contents, minimum quality control, protection of the copyrights, forming supporting groups through active advertising, long-term preservation, incentive, and mandate, were included. The technical factors included easy submission, support for interoperability, and support for the publication activities.

Abstract

Recently, semantic search techniques which are based on information space as consisting of non- ambiguous, non-redundant, formal pieces of ontological knowledge have been developed so that users do exploit large knowledge bases. The purpose of the study is to design more user-friendly and smarter retrieval interface based on ontological analysis, which can provide more precise information by reducing semantic ambiguity or more rich linked information based on well-defined relationships. Therefore, this study, first of all, focuses on ontological analysis on researcher information as selecting descriptive elements, defining classes and properties of descriptive elements, and identifying relationships between the properties and their restriction between relationships. Next, the study designs the prototypical retrieval interface based on ontology-based representation, which supports to semantic searching and browsing regarding researchers as a full-fledged domain. On the proposed retrieval interface, users can search various facts for researcher information such as research outputs or the personal information, or carrier history and browse the social connection of the researchers such as researcher group that is lecturing or researching on the same subject or involving in the same intellectual communication.

Abstract

The Computer Interchange of Museum Information (CIMI), operating from 1990-2003, was charged with creating and introducing the international museum community to the concept of adopting metadata industry standards. The CIMI consortium exceeded its original mission by; creating a standards framework, profile, testbeds, important metadata publications, free downloadable metadata software and protocols, and providing instrumental guidance and support in development of new projects. However, CIMI’s emphasis on the importance and utility of a standards-based approach and the necessity for implementing the CIMI Standards Framework is probably its most important achievement. During CIMI’s tenure, museums reaped the benefits by learning how to apply the model and standards to meet their individual needs while not having to invent new ones or bear the cost of software development. Although CIMI operations ceased in 2003, its impacts on museum related metadata application and research were unprecedented in that it provided the standards prototype and foundations on which to build. This paper discusses what CIMI bequeathed to the next generation of museum metadata field developers and describes the anticipated realm of future projects and advancement.

도서관계의 상황을 보면 대학도서관, 공공도서관, 전문도서관, 학교도서관 등 매우 다양한 유형의 도서관이 있고, 국가적인 차원 및 상업적인 차원의 정보유통기관이 있으며, 또 이를 지원하는 기관들 즉, 도서관자동화업체, 도서관관련 비품업체, 도서관관련 아웃소싱업체, 각종 데이터베이스 구축업체가 있다. 이러한 상황을 볼 때 문헌정보학을 전공한 사람들의 경력경로는 매우 다양해 질 수 있으며, 이로 인하여 사서인력의 유동성 및 경력이동률은 매우 높을 것이라는 것을 예측할 수 있다. 그러나 현재까지 도서관계의 특성 및 직업적 특성을 감안하여 사서인력의 유동성 실태나 이직률과 이직의 원인 등을 규명하는 연구는 거의 없다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이를 위한 기초연구로 사서인력의 경력이동 및 경력개발 현황에 대해서 조사하고자 하였다. 사서의 경력개발 과정 분석을 통해 도서관계 및 관련분야에서 근무하고 있는 사람들의 직장이동 경로, 경력개발을 위한 노력, 경력이동 요인 등을 파악하고자 하였다.

Abstract

Professions with librarianship can be found in various fields. It includes all different kinds of libraries, including academic, public, special, and school libraries. Moreover, there are national and commercial information distribution bodies, and other bodies supporting the national body such as library automation companies, library supply companies, and library outsourcing companies. Careers of those who have studied in library and information science could be developed in all these fields. High flexibility and labour turnover can be expected due to the wide range of career fields. Nevertheless, there have been very little studies reflecting the reasons of high level of turnovers and flexibility in librarian workforce. Therefore, this paper invastigates career movement and development of librarian as a foundation stone of further researches. It also analyzes career development process of librarians, including career paths of those working in libraries and other related areas, their efforts for career development, factors influencing their career movements.
