본 연구는 대학도서관이 교수연구지원을 위해 기여하는 서비스 현황을 파악함으로써 대학도서관이 대학의 교수연구지원을 위해 그들의 정보요구에 부합되는 시스템을 운영하고 있는 가를 알아보며, 대학도서관 웹사이트를 이용한 학술연구정보 시스템 개발의 필요성과 로드맵을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 현재 국내 대학도서관 평가기준에 따라 변화되어 온 대학도서관 발전의 문제점과 이로 인한 대학도서관의 교수연구지원서비스의 한계점에 대하여 조사하였다. 또한 국내외의 12개 대학 도서관의 교수연구지원서비스 활동을 개관하고 분석함으로써 국내 대학도서관의 보다 진취적인 교수연구지원 서비스를 위한 벤치마킹을 모색하고자 하였으며, 서비스 전략의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 교수 연구지원을 위한 고객관계관리(Customer Relationship Management: CRM) 서비스 전략이라고 할 수 있는 일대일, “mass-personalized services”를 제시함으로써 대학도서관의 “one-stop service execution wheel”을 토대로 한 교수연구지원 서비스의 가능성을 탐색하였다.
Abstract
This research aims to explore faculty research support systems in university libraries, assess their service performance for faculty research, and suggest the need and roadmap for new service development. We perform in-depth analyses of not only the current university library evaluation criteria as part of the overall university evaluation criteria, but also ten university libraries in the United States and two university libraries in Korea. Thorough benchmarking studies reveal the problems of the current university library evaluation criteria in its advances and limitations of current faculty support service systems. Especially this research suggests to develop a one-stop service execution wheel for the roadmap for the faculty research support system which is based on customer relationship management(CRM) for one-to-one, mass- personalized services to the faculty.

기업이나 연구소 등에서 운영하는 전문도서관의 경제적 가치 평가에 대한 필요성이 제기됨에 따라 본 연구는 전문도서관 주요 서비스의 가치평가에 대한 새로운 접근방법을 제시하였다. 선행연구의 이론과 보편타당성과 적용가능성을 기준으로 삼았다. 서비스에 어떤 유형의 자원(물적 자원 또는 인적 자원)이 사용되었는지에 따라 측정요소와 방법론을 달리 적용하였으며, 이를 토대로 전문도서관 주요 서비스의 가치평가를 위한 산출식을 제시하였다. 전문도서관 서비스의 경제적 가치평가를 위한 분석모형 개발은 서비스의 가치에 대한 객관적 입증이 가능해져서 전문도서관의 진정한 가치를 알릴 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
Abstract
This study aims to suggest a new approach to economic valuation of the special library, in response to the necessity of economic justification of the special library operated by firms and research institutes. Benefit measurement elements and analysis methods to be used in the studywere derived through feasibility evaluation on models in previous studies, and objectivity and applicability were the criteria for feasibility evaluation. Depending on which type of resources are used in providing service, different benefit measurement elements and methods were applied. Based on this, calculation formula for service valuation of special library was presented. The development of analysis model for economic valuation of special library made it possible to objectively prove the value of the special library, and is considered to provide an opportunity to publicize the real value of the special library.
