교수연구업적을 보다 효과적으로 평가하기 위해서는 연구의 정량 및 정성적 측면을 고려하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 연구의 양적 측면을 보여주는 논문 수와 질적 측면을 반영하는 피인용 수에 의한 국내 문헌정보학과 교수의 연구업적 평가순위를 국내 대학에서 사용되는 연구업적 평가규정을 적용한 순위와 비교․분석하였다. 연구결과, 논문 수에 의한 교수별 순위가 피인용 수에 의한 순위와 차이가 있으며, 대학별 교수 업적평가는 피인용 수보다는 논문 수에 의한 평가와 가까운 것으로 나타났다. 또한 대학별 상이한 논문 배점기준은 교수업적평가 결과에 별다른 영향을 끼치지 않았다. 향후 연구에서는 연구의 양적 및 질적 수준을 보다 잘 반영하는 계량서지학적 지표에 관한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 본다.

Abstract

Effective assessment of faculty research performance should involve considerations of both quality and quantity of faculty research. This study analyzed methods for evaluating faculty research output by comparing the rankings of Library and Information Science(LIS) faculty by publication counts, citation counts, and research performance assessment guidelines employed by Korean universities. The study results indicated that faculty rankings based on publication counts to be significantly different from those based on citation counts. Additionally, faculty rankings measured by university guidelines showed bigger correlations with rankings based on publication counts than rankings by citation counts, while differences in universities guidelines did not significantly affect the faculty rankings. The study findings suggest the need for bibliometric indicators that reflect the quality as well as the quantity of research output.

Abstract

This thesis is the study of the relationship between school libraries and academic achievement. This thesis defines research areas between school libraries and academic achievement, analyzes the representative related thesis, and them partly applies meta-analysis methodology. This thesis present research sciences, research methodologies, statistical techniques, and research pursuit pertinent to Korea for the sceitific research between school libraries and academic achievement. In the future, to develop school libraries in the long term, in-depth academic research must be developed. The focus of the research should include the MLS and Ph.D. thesis of education of information and library as a subject matter' field to analyze the relationship between school libraries and academic achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identify the usefulness of Weblog genre analysis in knowledge creation within an organization where communications are occurred frequently among the employees with information and communication technologies (ICTs). Knowledge creation is essential to achieve competitive advantage in today’s knowledge-oriented working environments. There has been huge investment on knowledge management systems to achieve such advantages. It is, however, widely recognized that distributed knowledge management systems often fail due to the different social contexts across the sub-organizations where the local information systems are deployed. It is important to coordinate such social gaps across the sub-organizations to achieve better advantages. Given that Weblogs users often feel a shared social norm, Weblogs play a positive role of narrowing the social gaps. This paper argues that the genre analysis of Weblogs could provide important clues to narrow the social gaps existed across the sub-organizations within an organization. Hence, such taxonomical practice may be a solution for the high rate of failure in knowledge management system implementations in an organization. This paper uses the theory of organizational knowledge creation (Nonaka & Takeuchi, 1995) and social construction of technology (SCOT) approach (Bijker, 1995) to compare the socialized with the non-socialized integration of distributed information systems. The findings of this research provide a useful framework for better implementing knowledge management practices especially in distributed working environments.

Abstract

In the current information environment, metadata interoperability has become the predominant way of organizing and managing resources. However, current approaches to metadata interoperability focus on the superficial mapping between labels of metadata elements without considering semantics of each element. This research applied facet analysis to address these difficulties in achieving metadata interoperability. By categorizing metadata elements according to these semantic and functional similarities, this research identified different types of facets: basic, conceptual, and relational. Through these different facets, a faceted framework was constructed to mediate semantic, syntactical, and structural differences across heterogeneous metadata standards.

This study proposes the analysis method in sentence semantics that can be automatically identified and processed as appropriate items in the system according to the composition of the sentences contained in the data corresponding to the logical semantic structure metadata of the research papers. In order to achieve the purpose, the structure of sentences corresponding to ‘Research Objectives’ and ‘Research Outcomes’ among the semantic structure metadata was analyzed based on the number of words, the link word types, the role of many-appeared words in sentences, and the end types of a word. As a result of this study, the number of words in the sentences was 38 in ‘Research Objectives’ and 212 in ‘Research Outcomes’. The link word types in ‘Research Objectives’ were occurred in the order such as Causality, Sequence, Equivalence, In-other-word/Summary relation, and the link word types in ‘Research Outcomes’ were appeared in the order such as Causality, Equivalence, Sequence, In-other-word/Summary relation. Analysis target words like ‘역할(Role)’, ‘요인(Factor)’ and ‘관계(Relation)’ played a similar role in both purpose and result part, but the role of ‘연구(Study)’ was little different. Finally, the verb endings in sentences were appeared many times such as ‘∼고자’, ‘∼였다’ in ‘Research Objectives’, and ‘∼었다’, ‘∼있다’, ‘∼였다’ in ‘Research Outcomes’. This study is significant as a fundamental research that can be utilized to automatically identify and input the metadata element reflecting the common logical semantics of research papers in order to support researchers’ scholarly sensemaking.

오픈 액세스 운동은 출판된 과학적 연구결과물을 비용 없이 누구나가 인터넷을 통해 이용 가능해야 한다는 원칙을 지지하는 운동이다. 오픈 액세스라는 용어는 이 운동의 폭넓은 의미로 사용되고 있으며, BOAI에서는 이 목표를 달성하기 위해 ‘셀프 아카이빙’과 ‘오픈 액세스 저널’ 두 가지의 전략을 제시하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 논의되고 있는 다양한 오픈 액세스 운동들의 개요와 수행전략 등을 소개하고, 사서, 대학, 출판사, 기금단체, 학회, 정부)들의 역할과 대응전략을 BOAI에서 제시하고 있는 두 전략의 관점에서 분석하고 있다.

Abstract

Open access movement supports the principle that the published output of scientific research should be available to everyone without charge. The term open access is used in the broad context of the wider movement. To achieve the objectives of open access to scholarly journal literature, BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative) recommends using two complementary strategies: ‘self-archiving’ in institutional/disciplinary repositories and ‘open access journals.’ This study introduces the strategies of open access movements and analyzes the ways to help the cause of open access by academic stakeholders (i.e., researchers, librarians, universities, publishers, foundations, learned societies, and government) from the perspective of two BOAI strategies.

본 연구의 목적은 국내 디지털 도서관 관련된 연구의 동향을 분석하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 국내 문헌정보학 분야 대표 학술지 4종으로부터 최근 10년(2007년-2016년) 동안 발표된 디지털 도서관 관련 논문 272편을 대상으로 해당 논문의 저자가 직접 부여한 영문키워드 578개를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 NetMiner V.4를 사용하여 연결중심성과 매개중심성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과로는, 첫째, 연구 주제의 양적인 측면에서는 ‘Academic Library’, ‘Reference Service’, ‘Public Library’, ‘E Resource’, ‘E Book’ 순으로 나타났고, 둘째, 연구 주제의 영향력 측면에서는, ‘Academic Library’, ‘Reference Service’, ‘Information Behavior’, ‘E Resource’ 등의 순으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구 주제의 확장성 측면에서는, ‘Academic Library’, ‘Metadata’, ‘Information Behavior’, ‘E Resource’, ‘Librarian’ 등의 순으로 파악되었다.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the research trends on the digital libraries in Korea. To achieve this objective, a total of 578 author-assigned English keywords were collected from the 272 major LIS journal articles published in Korea during last ten years-period, i.e., 2007-2016. The collected data were analyzed using NetMiner V.4 to discover their ‘degree centrality’ and ‘betweenness centrality’. As the results, ‘Academic Library’, ‘Reference Service’, ‘Public Library’, ‘E Resource’, and ‘E Book’ showed the most frequently conducted research topics, and ‘Academic Library’, ‘Reference Service’, ‘Information Behavior’, and ‘E Resource’ were the most influencing research topics. Finally, ‘Academic Library’, ‘Metadata’, ‘Information Behavior’, ‘E Resource’, and ‘Librarian’ seemed the most widely intervening research topics in this research.

대학도서관 발전계획은 외부적으로는 도서관의 역할과 발전 방향에 대한 명시적인 선언이자 내부적으로는 도서관 서비스 제공을 위한 지침으로 기능한다는 점에서 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 발전계획 수립을 위해서는 국제적, 국가적 환경에 대한 이해, 개별 대학과 대학구성원에 대한 이해가 요구된다. 본 연구는 대학도서관과 관련된 국제 환경의 추세를 파악하기 위하여 해외 대학도서관 발전계획 사례를 조사하고, 내용분석과 네트워크 분석을 통해 그 동향을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 대부분의 해외 대학도서관에서는 ‘협업’, ‘컬렉션 개발 및 구축’, ‘연구지원’이라는 키워드를 주축으로 다양한 전략과 세부 계획을 제시하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 향후 대학도서관 발전계획 수립 시 고려해야 하는 사항으로, 발전계획 내 대학도서관의 사명과 비전, 가치의 구체적 명시, 문화적 다양성성과 형평성, 포용성 등의 핵심가치의 중요성 인식, 대학도서관 내외부의 파트너십 및 협업의 중요성 인식, 경영 목적 달성의 도구로서 대학도서관 발전계획의 활용을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The academic library development plan has external importance as it explicitly declares the library’s role and development direction. Internally, it is also a library service guideline. To develop the development plan, libraries must understand the trends and needs of international, national, and affiliating universities and their constituents. Accordingly, this research includes case, content, and network analyses of foreign academic libraries’ development plans to identify the trends. The analysis results show most foreign academic libraries employed various strategies and plans, which can be characterized as ‘collaboration,’ ‘collection development,’ and ‘research support.’ Consequently, we propose the following factors to consider when developing an academic library development plan: specification of mission, vision, and core values; recognition of core values such as diversity, equity, and inclusion; awareness of the significance of collaboration and partnership with other units within the universities and external organizations; and utilization of university library development plans as tools for achieving management objectives.

본 연구는 단행본, 학술지, 보고서 등 다양한 종류의 발간물로 구성된 연구보고서의 참고문헌 데이터베이스를 효율적으로 구축하기 위한 것으로 딥러닝 언어 모델을 이용하여 참고문헌의 자동추출 성능을 비교 분석하고자 한다. 연구보고서는 학술지와는 다르게 기관마다 양식이 상이하여 참고문헌 자동추출에 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 참고문헌 자동추출에 널리 사용되는 연구인 메타데이터 추출과 더불어 참고문헌과 참고문헌이 아닌 문구가 섞여 있는 환경에서 참고문헌만을 분리해내는 원문 분리 연구를 통해 이 문제를 해결하였다. 자동 추출 모델을 구축하기 위해 특정 연구기관의 연구보고서 내 참고문헌셋, 학술지 유형의 참고문헌셋, 학술지 참고문헌과 비참고문헌 문구를 병합한 데이터셋을 구성했고, 딥러닝 언어 모델인 RoBERTa+CRF와 ChatGPT를 학습시켜 메타데이터 추출과 자료유형 구분 및 원문 분리 성능을 측정하였다. 그 결과 F1-score 기준 메타데이터 추출 최대 95.41%, 자료유형 구분 및 원문 분리 최대 98.91% 성능을 달성하는 등 유의미한 결과를 얻었다. 이를 통해 비참고문헌 문구가 포함된 연구보고서의 참고문헌 추출에 대한 딥러닝 언어 모델과 데이터셋 유형별 참고문헌 구축 방향을 제안하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of using deep learning language models to extract references automatically and create a reference database for research reports in an efficient manner. Unlike academic journals, research reports present difficulties in automatically extracting references due to variations in formatting across institutions. In this study, we addressed this issue by introducing the task of separating references from non-reference phrases, in addition to the commonly used metadata extraction task for reference extraction. The study employed datasets that included various types of references, such as those from research reports of a particular institution, academic journals, and a combination of academic journal references and non-reference texts. Two deep learning language models, namely RoBERTa+CRF and ChatGPT, were compared to evaluate their performance in automatic extraction. They were used to extract metadata, categorize data types, and separate original text. The research findings showed that the deep learning language models were highly effective, achieving maximum F1-scores of 95.41% for metadata extraction and 98.91% for categorization of data types and separation of the original text. These results provide valuable insights into the use of deep learning language models and different types of datasets for constructing reference databases for research reports including both reference and non-reference texts.

본 연구는 과학기술분야 R&D 라이프사이클 각 단계 세부연구 목표를 달성하는 과정에서 이루어지는 정보행동(정보요구, 정보검색, 정보도구, 정보채널, 정보장애)을 과학기술커뮤니티 환경의 맥락에서 분석하였다. 이 연구는 의미형성이론, 일상생활정보탐색이론, 활동이론에 근거하여 과학기술자를 대상으로 질적 인터뷰연구를 통해 이루어졌으며, 연구결과 과학기술분야 R&D 라이프사이클 5단계는 14개의 세부 정보행동 단계로 이루어짐을 밝혀내었다. 과학기술 R&D 연구 세부단계별로 문제상황 극복을 위한 정보행동 규명은 연구자와 연구환경의 변화를 이해할 뿐만 아니라 향후 도서관 및 정보서비스 기관에서 과학기술 전주기적 정보서비스 전략을 수립하는데 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

Abstract

This study analyzed scientists information behaviors when they engage in solving specific research problems in various situations throughout the entire scientific R&D lifecycle process. In-depth interviews with a total of 24 scientists were conducted in their research laboratories, the scientists’ everyday workplace and the contexts of scientific research. The theoretical and methodological frameworks employed for this study were Dervin’s Sense-making, Savolainen’s Everyday Life Information Seeking, and Engeström's Activity Theory. The findings of this study informed context-specific research and information behaviors of the scientists in the 14 sub stages of the five-stage of R&D lifecycle. Specifically, the study revealed the research objectives and related information behaviors (e.g., information needs, information seeking, information sources and channels, information barriers, etc.) to achieve the objectives at each sub-stage. The study results provided essential information to re-design the information services and strategies that accommodate the scientific R&D lifecycle.

정보관리학회지
