공공도서관에서 제공하고 있는 디지털참고봉사의 현황과 발전을 이해하기 위하여, 전국의 공공도서관 홈페이지를 직접 접속하여 관찰하고 이용 데이터를 수집하여 분석하였으며. 2003년에 수집하였던 데이터와 비교하였다. 모두 404개의 디지털참고봉사 사이트에 대하여, 접근수준, 서비스방식, 링크명칭, 서비스정책, 웹폼, FAQ 등 서비스 제공 관련 특성을 분석한 후, 15일간 수행된 질문응답 데이터를 수집하여 이용도서관, 이용수준, 응답비율, 질문유형 등 서비스 성능을 분석하였다. 서비스 현황에 대한 이해와 문제점, 그리고 4년 동안에 걸친 변화가 식별되었으며, 향후 발전을 위한 제언이 이루어졌다.
Abstract
To understand the present status and the development of the digital reference service in Korean public libraries, a nationwide site observation was attempted in 2007. The collected data was analyzed, then compared with the previous analysis based on a 2003 data. For the 404 sites offering digital reference, operational characteristics, such as access level, service mode, link description, policy, web form, and FAQ, are analyzed. Performance analysis focused on the presence of question posting, volume of usage, response rate, and types of the questions, for the data collected for 15 days through question and answer transcript recording. Results reveal findings on the present situation as well as changes over 4 years.Related problems are identified. The conclusion includes suggestions for improving digital reference service.

본 연구는 학술연구 성과물의 개방과 공유 활동의 국제적인 흐름에 호응하고, 국민들의 학술연구 정보의 자유로운 접근을 보장하기 위한 오픈액세스시스템의 주제기반 온라인 학술 커뮤니티의 성공적인 운영모형을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위한 세부적인 연구내용은 다음과 같이 네 영역으로 나누어 진행하였다. 첫째는 커뮤니티와 온라인 커뮤니티의 개념과 특성, 주요 성공 요인에 대한 일반적 분석이다. 둘째는 널리 알려진 온라인 학술 커뮤니티인 KISTI의 과학기술 학회마을, 생물학 연구정보센터, MIT의 DSpace를 대상으로 기능적인 요소와 구체적인 성공요인을 분석하였다. 셋째, 이들 사례의 주요 기능과 성공요인을 토대로 오픈액세스시스템의 핵심기능인 커뮤니티 서비스에 대한 주요기능을 도출하였다. 넷째, 국내 연구자들을 대상으로 커뮤니티 서비스의 기능 요구도와 참여의지를 설문으로 통해 조사, 분석하였다. 그 결과 온라인 커뮤니티 서비스의 주요 기능은 30-40대의 인문사회계열 연구자들에게 초점을 맞추어 특히 ‘연구 성과물 관리 기능’, ‘이슈 리포트 게시 기능’, ‘연구 사업 정보 통합 제공 기능’ 등을 우선적으로 제공하여야 할 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide successive online community operational model in response to the world wide open access movement which supports the broadest possible access to published research and other scholarly writings. This study is divided into four areas in a large. First, this study reviewed general community, online community and open access movement. Second, well-known online scholarly community, i.e., KISTI Society, BRIC, DSpace were analyzed precisely focusing on the administrative and functional factors to find key to success. Third, based on the above two studies, major functions of community services were identified. For this work, community service functions and participation will were asked to the researchers registered in Korea Research Foundation. According to the results of the above works, this study presents the important functions of online community services as follows: management function of research results, posting function of issue reports, and provision function of integrated information on research proposal should be provided preferentially to researchers aged 30s and 40s.

본 연구에서는 디지털 도서관의 상호운영성 및 통합 관리 문제를 해결하기 위해 상호운영성을 위한 핵심 기술 및 디지털 도서관의 기능, 서비스를 분석하여 정보기술아키텍처의 기술참조모델을 설계하였다. 제시된 디지털 도서관의 정보기술아키텍처의 영역은 1)Metadata Management, 2)Library Services, 3)Service Integration 4)Service Management, 5)Open Interface, 6)Network, 7)Architecture 등 총 7개의 영역으로 구분되며, 20개의 세부 기술 영역으로 하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 정보시스템간의 상호운영성 및 호환성을 확보하기 위한 핵심 기술을 식별함으로서 디지털 도서관의 체계적인 구축과 효율성을 제고하기 위한 틀을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
In order to solve the problems of the digital library's Interoperability and integrated management, we analyzed core technologies for interoperability in digital library in terms of information creation, organization, service. And then we proposed information technology reference model that is composed of 7 scopes. The proposed scope included 1)Metadata Management, 2)Library Services, 3)Service Integration 4)Service Management, 5)Open Interface, 6)Network, 7)Architecture. Those results can be used as a framework for developing interoperable digital library system.

기술 환경의 변화는 문헌정보시스템의 혁신적인 변화를 촉진하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 문헌 정보 체계기술과 인터넷 정보기술을 융합된 차세대 문헌 정보 시스템의 원형으로 시맨틱 라이브러리를 정의하고, 시맨틱 라이브러리의 기능적 요구사항과 아키텍처의 참조모델을 제시하였다. 시맨틱 라이브러리는 온톨로지와 메타데이터 기반의 의미적 상호 운용성과 통합을 실현하고 정보 자원의 개방과 공유 참여와 협업을 통하여 이용자 정보 서비스를 혁신하는 체제이다. 또한 시맨틱 라이브러리는 FRBR의 논리구조를 근간으로 하여 서비스 지향 아키텍처로 구현됨으로써 효과적으로 시스템을 구축을 실현할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 차세대 문헌정보 시스템의 모델로 6개 수평 계층과 3개 수직요소로 구성되는 시맨틱 라이브러리의 참조 모델을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The current technological revolution pushes forward the innovation in the library information systems. This study proposes functional requirements and an architectural reference model of Semantic Library, recognized as a prototype of next-generation library information systems, that is a seamless convergence of the library information systems and the Internet technologies. Semantic Library can realize semantic interoperability and integration based on ontology and metadata, and also renovate information services for users with openness, sharing, participation and collaboration. Semantic Library will be effectively implemented by means of service-oriented architecture and the logical structure of FRBR. In this study, a reference model of Semantic Library consisting of 6 horizontal layers and 3 vertical elements is presented as a next-generation model of library information systems.
