초록

The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical framework and practical methodology to extend the scope of Library and Information Science by incorporating the usability evaluation of e-book, which has considerably increased in proportion in the digital library. By surveying e-book users and through statistical analysis, it was found that rebuilding a set of usability evaluation factors for e-books is necessary to activate e-books in the digital libraries. 초록

1990년대 중반부터 전자저널 이용의 증가와 더불어 도서관에서의 라이선스 계약 사례도 급격하게 늘어나고 있다. 그러나 현재 도서관 사서들은 라이선스 계약이라는 비교적 새로운 현상에 대한 지식과 경험의 부족으로 인해 라이선스 계약에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 도서관에서의 라이선스 계약을 통해 전자저널 이용이 크게 제한되는 문제점을 고찰하고 이러한 문제점에 효율적으로 대처하기 위한 방안으로 라이선스 계약모델의 개발을 제안하는 동시에 국외에서 제시된 라이선스 계약 원칙을 바탕으로 하여 라이선스 계약모델 개발 지침을 제시하였다.

Abstract

Along with the increased use of e-journal since mid of 1990's, there has been a sharp increase of license contracting in the library. However the librarians who have no enough knowledge nor technology to handle the licensing are experiencing difficulties in the process. The study intended to help them understand the practical problems of license contracting between library and vendors, and proposed guidelines for developing model license for e-journal based on the licensing principles of IFLA and ALA.
