웹페이지의 급속한 확산은 빠른 정보의 유통을 필요로 하는 의학도서관의 정보서비스에도 필연적인 변화를 가져왔다. 이에 본 논문은 먼저 의학도서관의 웹페이지의 이론적 배경과 정보서비스차원에서 웹페이지의 의의를 살펴보고, 서울시 의학도서관의 웹페이지에 나타난 정보서비스의 실태를 조사분석한 뒤, 이를 바탕으로 웹페이지를 통한 의학도서관의 정보서비스의 활성화에 일조하는 방안을 제시하고 있다.
Abstract
The diffusion of webpages has inevitably brought about changes in providing the information service of the medical libraries. Accordingly this study builds a theoretical background in relation to webpages and information services of the medical libraries. Also, this paper examines the current information services in the webpages of the medical libraries in Seoul. By so doing, this study aims to enhance the information service in webpages of the medical libraries.

본 연구의 목적은 해외 도서관의 계량서지 서비스를 유형별로 분석하고 국내 도서관의 계량서지 서비스 도입을 위한 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 문헌조사와 도서관 웹사이트 분석을 통해 계량서지 서비스를 크게 교육 및 자문 서비스와 연구성과 및 동향 분석 서비스로 나누고 9개의 세분화된 서비스 유형을 파악하였다. 또한 파악한 서비스 유형을 바탕으로 다양한 계량서지 서비스 행태를 분석하였다. 조사 및 분석 결과를 바탕으로 국내 도서관의 계량서지 서비스 개발을 위해 우선적으로 연구성과 관련 기관 리포지터리를 구축하고, 서비스 초기 단계에서는 주제가이드와 교육프로그램을 제공하고, 이후에는 자문 서비스와 분석 서비스와 같이 보다 전문화된 서비스를 제공할 것, 연구자 집단에게 잠재된 서비스 수요를 발굴할 것 등을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigate bibliometric services practices of foreign libraries by service types and suggest practical considerations for Korean libraries wishing to implement bibliometric services. Through the examination of previous research and library websites, nine types of bibliometric services were identified under two broad categories - education & consulting services and research evaluation & research trend services. According to the service types, a wide range of bibliometric services activities were analyzed and described. Recommendations from the study for service development include: building an institutional repository for scholarly output; developing subject guides and education programs at the initial phase of service and providing more advanced services such as consulting and analysis services at the later phase; identifying the potential service needs of researcher groups.

사회가 발전하면서 자원봉사는 보편화되어 가고 있으며, 공공도서관 자원봉사도 양적, 질적 증가를 보이고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 공공도서관 자원봉사의 운영과 관리 실태를 분석하고 공공도서관 자원봉사의 활성화를 도모하기 위하여, 먼저 공공도서관 자원봉사에 대한 이론적 배경을 살펴본 후, 설문조사를 통하여 현재 우리나라 공공도서관 자원봉사의 운영과 관리 실태를 기획부문, 자원봉사자 관리부문, 행정부문으로 나누어 조사하고, 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 자원봉사의 활성화 방안과 전망을 제시함으로써 도서관 자원봉사의 운영 및 관리에 대한 이해 증진에 일조함에 그 목적이 있다.
Abstract
As the volunteer activity has become universal, volunteers of public libraries have also grown both quantitatively and qualitatively. In this context, this study builds a theoretical background on the volunteer activity of public libraries; examines the volunteer activity management of public libraries using survey method including its planning, personal management and administration; and suggests some recommendations to promote the voluntary activity of public libraries. By so doing, this study aims at enhancing our understanding on the volunteer activity management of public libraries.

이 연구에서는 K대학의 대학교수 및 일반대학원 재학생 367명을 대상으로 설문지법을 이용하여 전자저널의 이용행태와 전자저널의 서비스품질(서비스의 적합성, 이용의 편리성, 홍보, 이용교육) 및 무료이용지각이 고객만족에 미치는 영향과 이러한 고객만족이 전자저널에 대한 충성도, 도서관 방문빈도에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 이용자들은 대략 6 : 4의 비율로 전자저널을 선호하고, 이용 및 검색, 접근의 편리성을 전자저널 선호의 주된 이유로 들었다. 전자저널의 서비스품질의 각 차원은 고객만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 무료이용지각은 유의수준 .1에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 고객만족은 충성도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 도서관 방문빈도에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the user behaviors of the electronic journal users and the influences of service quality of electronic journals on the customer satisfactions, customer loyalty, and frequency of visit to the library building. Approximately 60 percent of users prefer e-journal to printed formats. Service quality of electronic journal was measured by four dimensions: reliability of service, convenience of service, public relations, and user instructions. 100 faculty members and 267 graduate school students were surveyed using questionnaires. It was concluded that each dimensions of service quality positively influenced on the customer satisfactions, and customer satisfaction positively influenced on loyalty, and negatively on frequency of visit to the library building.

사회적 기구로서 공공도서관이 변화하는 사회에서 제 기능을 다하고 주어진 목적을 이루기 위해서는 전통적이거나 관습적인 운영보다는 좀 더 체계적이고 효율적인 경영이 실현되어야 한다. 이런 맥락에서 공공도서관의 특성화 전략이란 공공도서관이 제공하는 자료와 서비스의 차별화와 집중화를 통한 운영 및 관리를 의미하며, 공공도서관의 효율적 경영을 위해 필수적으로 반영되어야 하는 것이다. 이에 본 논문은 공공도서관의 특성화를 살펴보기 위하여 먼저 우리나라 공공도서관의 발전과 현황을 살펴본 후 공공도서관의 특성화에 관한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 우리나라 공공도서관의 서비스를 특성화란 관점에서 자료중심과 서비스중심으로 나누어 조사ㆍ분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 나타난 문제점과 개선방안을 살펴봄으로써, 공공도서관의 특성화, 나아가 도서관의 특성화 일반에 대한 이해의 증진에 일조하는데 그 목적이 있다.
Abstract
As social institution, the public libraries in changing social environment are required to adopt a more systematic and efficient managerial strategy, only to function properly and to achieve the given goal. In this context, the specialization of the public libraries means the provision of information and library services through differentiation and focus strategy, and should be realized for the efficient library management. In order to examine the specialization of the public libraries in Korea, this study builds the theoretical background of the specialization of the public libraries, looks into the current situation of the public libraries, investigates and analyzes the specialization of the public libraries in terms of information and library services, and suggests some recommendation for improvement. By so doing this study aims at enhancing our understanding of the specialization of the libraries as a whole.

스마트폰의 이용증가에 따라 도서관의 정보서비스는 새로운 패러다임을 맞이하고 있다. 본 연구는 도서관 모바일 웹사이트에 나타난 콘텐츠를 분석하여 정보의 구성현황 및 특징을 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 국외 26개 도서관을 선별하여 해당기관의 모바일 웹사이트를 조사하였고 사이트에 포함된 콘텐츠를 분석하였다. 그 결과로 모바일 웹사이트의 정보구조 및 핵심 콘텐츠를 분석하여 제시하였으며, 모바일 웹사이트에서 가장 많이 제공되고 있는 콘텐츠의 유형을 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 도서관의 모바일 웹사이트 구축을 위한 참고자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The information service of library is getting into a new paradigm as the smart phone usage increases. This study analyzes the contents reflected on the library mobile website to figure out the structural condition and features of the information. For this study, 26 academic libraries in U.S. are selected for an examination of their mobile websites, and the contents on the sites were analyzed. This study analyzed the most frequent type of contents provided in the mobile website. As a result, this study suggested the information structure and core contents of the mobile website in detail. The outcome of this study is expected to be a reference for building the mobile website of library.

전문대학은 4년제 대학과 더불어 주요한 고등인력 양성기관임과 동시에 수적으로도 막중한 비중을 차지하고 있음에도 불구하고 도서관발전 종합계획에는 전문대학도서관만의 열악한 특성을 고려하지 않고 전체 대학도서관을 활성화할 수 있는 방안들만이 제시되고 있어서 전문대학도서관은 여전히 소외되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전문대학도서관들의 현황을 문헌조사를 통해 조사하여 전문대학도서관의 문제점을 도출하고 이를 기반으로 국가차원에서 지원해 주어야 할 정책을 6가지로 나누어 제안하고 있다. 즉, 전문대학 특성에 따른 장서개발, 전문대학 특성화에 따른 주제전문 도서관 구축, 전문대학도서관간 상호협력 강화, 전문대학도서관 서비스 강화, 전문대학도서관 법적 개선 및 평가지표 개발, 수요조사 연구 및 서비스 품질 평가 등이다.
Abstract
Community colleges are key constituents of higher education in Korea, along with four-year universities. The number of community colleges in Korea also holds significance. However, the main focus of the Master Plan for Library Development decisively lies in university libraries, with little consideration to the poor condition of community college libraries. This study aims to identify problems of community college libraries by conducting a document research on their current standing and, based on that, to present six policy proposals for government support. They are a) to develop library collections based on the school specialty, b) to build theme-oriented libraries, c) to facilitate cooperation between community college libraries, d) to reinforce capacities for library service, e) to improve legal status of community college libraries and develop an evaluation index, f) and to estimate demand and evaluate service quality.

본 연구는 도시개발 변화에 따른 공공도서관 신축부지선정에 대한 법적 검토사항을 살펴보고, 일반적인 부지특성과 입지기준을 고찰하였다. 또한 전주시를 대상으로 적합한 부지를 선정하기 위하여, 지역주민들의 정보문화활동에 관한 각종 지표 및 통계자료를 조사하였고, 이용자 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그리고 이를 토대로 새로운 공공도서관 설립 비전과 목적을 수립하고, 부지선정 계획을 단계별로 제안하였다. 본 연구는 도서관 신축부지선정과 지방정부의 도서관정책개발 및 예산확보의 타당성 근거로 활용하는데 유용한 자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
In this study, various aspects of site selection for constructing new public library by development of urban community were investigated. These are legal aspects, geographical characteristics, and criteria of selecting conditions of location for new building. In order to select the suitable site in the Jeon Ju City, the various statistical data and indices with regard to information and cultural activities of the local residents and a statistical data was investigated. And also, a user question investigation was executed. The vision and objectives of establishing new pubic libraries were presented, based on the result of the study. The result of this study will help the library policy maker to develope the library policy and to secure a budget from the regional government.

강의별학술정보페이지는 하나의 게이트웨이에서 강의정보와 도서관자원을 통합하여 제공하는 서비스로 대학도서관의 정보서비스를 더욱 강화시킬 수 있다. 이는 여러 검색게이트를 갖는 기존의 도서관 자료 제공방식과 달리 강의별 맞춤 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 강의관리시스템과 연계하여 강의와 도서관자원을 더욱 밀접하게 연계시킬 수 있다. 국외 대학도서관의 경우 강의별학술정보페이지를 대학의 특성에 맞게 다양한 내용으로 구축하며, 대학에 개설된 전체 강의에 대한 페이지를 구축하기 위해 수작업이 아닌 자동화 처리 프로그램을 도입하거나 개발하고 있다. 따라서 강의별학술정보페이지 구축 프로그램도 자체 개발 혹은 상업 벤더시스템 등으로 다양하다. 하지만, 국내에서는 강의별학술정보페이지 개발이 활성화되고 있지 않으며, 시스템 개발에 대한 구축방안도 모색되지 않고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 문헌연구와 사례조사 방법을 이용해 국내 대학도서관의 적극적인 서비스 방안의 하나인 강의별학술정보페이지 구축 방안을 제안한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 강의별학술정보페이지 구축 방안을 통해 도서관의 적극적 서비스를 마련할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Library course pages are an integrated service providing both course management information and library resources as one gateway to strengthen university libraries' information services. It is possible to associate course management system and library resources, and to provide course-specific information rather than library interface with various searching gateways. In the case of foreign university libraries, library course pages have been developed more effectively and variously for university's environment and characteristics, and have been built for all the courses in a university by system processing, not manually. In foreign libraries, there are many sophisticated, dynamic, database-driven house-developed and vendor- developed systems for library course pages than hand coded HTML pages. But in Korea, there is a lack of awareness of the importance of library course pages among librarians, and the programs of library course pages have not yet been developed. Therefore, this study is to build the model for library course pages using literature reviews and case studies. Then, this study could also lay the foundation for effective library services and the system development of library course pages.

LC나 OCLC에서 RDA 서지레코드를 반입함에 따라 RDA 규칙 적용에 관한 실질적인 방안이 모색되어야 한다. 특히, RDA에는 여러 대안과 선택사항이 포함되어 있어 규칙을 적용하기가 용이하지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내에서 RDA 적용을 위한 실질적인 방안을 모색하기 위해 LC RDA 지침을 분석하고, 사례로 시카고대학교, 노스캐롤라이나주립대학교, 스탠포드대학교의 3개 도서관에서 RDA 적용 방안을 조사하였다. 분석결과 모든 도서관은 기본적으로 LC RDA 지침을 바탕으로 RDA 레코드를 작성하였으나 각 기관별로 특정 지침을 만들어 적용하였다. 즉 책임사항 기술시 모든 창작자를 기술하는 것뿐만 아니라 첫 번째 창작자만을 기술하도록 예외조항을 두었다. 발행사항에서 도서관에 따라 일부는 260 필드를 일부는 264 필드를 사용하였다. 자원유형 기술에서 33X 필드를 거의 모든 도서관이 입력하였으며, 일부 도서관은 RDA로 구축되지 않은 레코드에 대해 GMD와 33X 필드를 모두 기술하였다. 사례조사를 바탕으로 국내 도서관에서 RDA 적용시 고려할 사항으로 첫째, RDA 규칙 및 LC RDA 지침을 준용하되, 기관별 특수성을 고려하여 변형 적용해야 한다. 둘째, 반입한 레코드 중 RDA 서지레코드가 아닌 경우 최소한의 RDA 요소를 입력하는 하이브리드레코드를 구축해야 한다. 셋째, 33X 필드에 다양한 자원유형 용어가 기술되는 만큼 효과적인 이용자 화면 출력 방안이 모색되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
It is necessary to find the practical considerations for applying RDA in building up the bibliographic records by importing RDA records from LC or OCLC in Korea. Especially, it is not easy to apply RDA appropriately because there are many alternatives and options in RDA. Therefore, this study is to grasp the way for applying RDA in building up the bibliographic records by reviewing LC RDA guidelines and analyzing RDA cataloging policies of libraries such as University of Chicago, North Carolina State University, and Standford University. As a result, these libraries have catalogued according to LC RDA guidelines and each library has its own guidelines, i.e., in statement of responsibilities, to transcribe all but exceptionally allow to transcribe only first, in publication statement, to use 264 field or 260 field, and in resource types, to transcribe all types of content, media and carrier or to transcribe 33X with GMD. Therefore followings would be considered for RDA application. First, some variations could be allowed for special situations of libraries in applying RDA and LC RDA guidelines. Second, the hybrid records that describe the core element of RDA to non-RDA records would be written in processing AACR2 to RDA. Third, the display of 33X field would be designed for expressing the resource types.
