초록

대학소속 연구자들의 연구 분야가 다변화되면서 대학도서관에서는 서비스 운영을 위하여 학과별 주제 분야를 파악하는 것이 중요한 과제로 인식되고 있다. 이 연구는 대학 학과 소속구성원들의 학술지 논문 서지사항을 분석하여 학과별 주제특성을 다차원적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 게재한 학술논문을 분석하여 1차적으로 해당 학과의 주제영역을 파악하고자 하였으며 심층적으로 주제영역을 분석하기 위하여 해당 논문들이 인용한 학술지를 조사하여 확장된 주제영역을 조사하였다. 또한 상위 인용된 학술지를 대상으로 네트워크 분석을 하여 학술지간 관계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 학과별 주제 분야별 학술지 이용현황에 차이가 있는 것으로 조사되었으며 특정 주제 분야의 경우 학술지 종수와 논문 수에 따라 주제 분야의 중요도가 비례하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 특정분야의 경우 소수의 학술지에서 많은 논문이 인용되고 있는 현상이 있으며 게재하는 주제 분야와 인용하는 주제 분야의 중요도가 일치하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

As topics of researchers become diverse horizontally or vertically, academic libraries have difficulties to identify the dynamic change of researchers' needs for academic publications. This research aims to illustrate the topic areas of researchers in a department of university by analyzing bibliographies of their publications. First, researchers' publications were used to discover the topic areas where the researchers had published. Second, the cited publications in those papers were analysed to identify the expanded topic areas of these researchers. Finally, highly cited journals were analyzed by network analysis method. The major finding is that the importance of topic areas by the number of journals was not necessarily proportional to that by the number of papers. Researchers have a tendency to use many papers in a small number of journals in a certain topic area. Furthermore, the importance of topic areas discovered by researchers' publications was not the same as that discovered by researchers' citations.

학문과 기술의 발달이 전개되면서 학문 간의 융합이 이루어지고 학제적 성향을 띠는 학문이 더욱 등장하게 되었다. 현재까지 계량정보학적 방법으로 학문 분야의 지적구조를 파악한 연구는 있었지만 학제적인 학문의 특성을 규명하여 지적구조를 분석한 시도는 적었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 학제성을 띠는 의료정보학(Medical Informatics) 분야의 저널 중 IEEE ENG MED BIOL 저널을 선정하여 저자동시인용 분석과 동시출현단어 분석을 통해 본 저널의 지적구조를 파악하였다. 또한 상위 3개 대표 저널의 저자 및 MeSH Term을 추출하여 종합적으로 비교분석하였다. 이를 통해 의료정보학 분야의 융합된 학문들의 관계를 구조적으로 파악하고 의료정보학의 학문적 성향을 분석했다.

Abstract

Due to the development of science and technology, the convergence of various disciplines has been fostered. Accordingly, interdisciplinary studies have increasingly been expanded by integrating knowledge and methodology from different disciplines. The primary focus of biblimetric methods is on investigating the intellectual structure a field, and analysis of the characterization of interdisciplinary studies is overlooked. In this study, we aim to identify the intellectual structure of the field of medical informatics through author co-citation analysis and co-word analysis by the representative journal “IEEE ENG MED BIOL.” In addition, we examine authors and MeSH Terms of top three representative journals for further analysis of the field. We examine the intellectual structure of the medical informatics field by author and word clusters to identify the network structure of medical informatics disciplines.

최근 다양한 학문 분야는 대내외적 요인으로 인해 학제적 연구 흐름에 영향을 받고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구는 문헌정보학 분야를 대상으로 학제성과 연구 영향력의 상관관계를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2011년 JCR(Journal Citation Reports)의 학술지 영향력 지수 상위에 해당하는 문헌정보학 학술지 10종을 선정하여 WoS(Web of Science) 인용색인 DB에서 2006년부터 2010년까지 1,873편의 논문의 참고문헌 데이터를 대상으로 분석하였다. 동시인용 네트워크 분석과 선정된 4가지 학제성 지수를 사용하여 문헌정보학 분야의 학제적 구조를 파악하고 학제성과 연구 영향력 사이의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 통해 문헌정보학의 학제적 구조를 제시하였으며, 학제성 지수 중 매개중심성은 학술지 영향력 지수(5년) 그리고 논문당 영향도(Article Influence Score)와 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있음이 밝혀졌다.

Abstract

As interdisciplinary research has been dominant in various fields, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between interdisciplinarity and research impact in the field of Library and Information Science. For a data set, ten journals ranked as the top of 2011 JCR’s in terms of JIF (Journal Impact Factor) were selected. The citation data of 1,873 articles from the ten journals were collected from the WoS during the period from 2006 to 2010. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, as network analysis was conducted to investigate the interdisciplinarity of LIS field, interdisciplinarity indicators, and research impact factors were statistically analyzed. The findings of this study confirmed the interdisciplinary knowledge structure of the LIS field as previous studies identified. More importantly, this study demonstrated that a positive correlation existed between interdisciplinarity represented as betweenness centrality and research impact.

Abstract

Even though the overall scholarly community has recognized a dramatic growth and changes in the Information Science research in Korea over the last few decades, there are still only few studies that have identified the changes in terms of long-term and dynamic point of view. We have analyzed 1,007 IS-research articles from leading Korean journals in KCI (Korea Citation Index), published between 2000 and 2011. To discern the trendline of changes in research interests over time, we conducted a time-series analysis by developing grounded subject scheme from the article set and checking the growth rate of the number of published articles and title keywords. A comparative analysis was also conducted by constructing and comparing co-word maps over time to discover visible changes in research topics over this 12-year period of the IS-research in Korea. As a result, we identified some developments and transformations in major subject areas and knowledge structure of the IS-research in Korea over time. The major trend we discovered is that IS-studies over the 12-year period evolved from system-oriented research to library-application research. The changes are especially observed in knowledge management, Web-based system evaluation, and information retrieval areas. When compared to the results of other studies, the result of our study may serve as an evidence of the localization of Korean IS-studies in the first decade of the 21st century.
