초록

본 연구는 한국학 연구 논문 텍스트의 의미 구조를 기반으로 하는 메타데이터를 적용한 학술정보시스템을 구축하여 기존 유사 시스템과의 비교를 통해, 텍스트 구조 기반 메타데이터의 활용 가능성을 확인해 보고자 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한국학술지인용색인(Korea Citation Index, KCI)에서 일정 기준을 충족하는 한국학 분야 연구 논문 데이터를 대상으로 의미 구조 메타데이터 항목을 적용한 시범적 검색 시스템(Korean Studies Metadata Database, KMD)을 구축하였으며, 동일한 검색 키워드를 적용하여 기존의 KCI 시스템과 비교했을 때 어떤 특징과 차이점을 갖는지 비교해 보았다. 연구 결과, KMD 시스템이 KCI에 비해 이용자의 검색 의도에 맞는 결과를 보다 효율적으로 보여주는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉 검색하고자 하는 키워드의 조합이나 조건식이 기존 시스템과 동일하더라도 검색 결과를 통해 최종적으로 연구 진행과 관련해 찾고자 하는 연구 목적, 연구의 대상 데이터나 시공간적 배경 등에 따른 검색 결과를 다양하게 보여줄 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

This study aims to develope a scholarly metadata information system based on conceptual elements of text structure of Korean studies research articles and to identify the applicability of text structure based metadata as compared with the existing similar system. For the study, we constructed a database(Korean Studies Metadata Database, KMD) with text structure based on metadata of Korean Studies journal articles selected from the Korea Citation Index(KCI). Then we verified differences between KCI system and KMD system through search results using same keywords. As a result, KMD system shows the search results which meet the users’ intention of searching more efficiently in comparison with the KCI system. In other words, even if keyword combinations and conditional expressions of searching execution are same, KMD system can directly present the content of research purposes, research data, and spatial-temporal contexts of research et cetera as search results through the search procedure.

Abstract

Physicians have information needs related to academic research and clinical practice but encounter difficulties seeking appropriate medical resources and information. The goal of this study is to develop a search system to support Korean physicians’ information needs. To access sources to meet the identified need, in-depth interviews were conducted, and MediSearching, a new search system, was developed accordingly. To verify its usefulness and to obtain users’ suggestions, interviews were conducted and feedback was solicited via collected test searches. The initial set of interviews indicated that physicians’ information needs and search behaviors differed by type of hospital and clinical department. Physicians in university hospitals with a greater need for research materials searched for academic articles, whereas physicians in specialty hospitals or primary care clinics with a stronger need for materials related to clinical practice asked their colleagues for information. Consequently, MediSearching was designed to satisfy both groups’ needs, and the test search provided useful search results compared with existing services. Korean physicians have previously had to repeat their search process on separate sites that provide different services according to type of information and search method. MediSearching may reduce this inconvenience and add documents in various formats and languages.

본 연구의 목적은 한국근대문학 주제가이드에 대한 활성화 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 이용자 및 작가들을 대상으로 주제가이드 서비스에 대한 인지도 조사를 실시하고, 전문가 의견조사 및 수렴과정을 통해 한국근대문학 주제가이드에 대한 홍보방안 및 개선방향을 도출하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 활성화 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다양한 홍보매체를 활용한 적극적인 홍보를 해야 한다. 둘째, 주제가이드의 유용성에 대한 이해 증진을 위해 이용자 교육을 제공하여야 한다. 셋째, 한국근대문학 주제가이드 서비스를 위한 별도의 사이트 구축이 필요하다. 넷째, 주제가이드 품질 향상 및 개선을 통한 효율적 주제서지정보서비스 방안으로 원문제공, 지속적 콘텐츠 추가, 유관기관과의 연계 등이 요구된다. 다섯째, 본 연구에서 분석된 성별, 연령별, 직업별, 학력별 요구도 차이를 기반으로 이용자 맞춤형 서비스를 제공해야 한다. 향후 연구에서는 주제가이드의 활성화를 위해 상호협력체계 모색, 구체적인 홍보전략을 제시하는 연구가 수행되어야 할 것이다. 또한 한국근대문학 주제가이드의 평가지표가 체계적으로 개발될 필요가 있다.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the strategies to promote the use of the subject guide for Korean modern literature. To meet this objective this study conducted a survey on users’ awareness of the subject guide service and sought out experts’ opinions to identify the strategies to promote and improve the subject guide for Korean modern literature. The study proposes the following strategies: 1) Conduct promotional activities utilizing a variety of social media; 2) provide education for the user to enhance understanding of the utility of the subject guide; 3) build a website dedicated to the subject guide service for Korean modern literature; 4) provide an efficient subject-specific bibliography service by improving the quality of the subject guide, by offering full texts, ongoing content updates, and coordination with other institutions and agencies; and 5) tailor the service to user characteristics such as gender, age, occupation, and education level. Suggestions for future directions include research on the collaborative system, additional specific promotional strategies to promote the use of the subject guide, and development of evaluation indicators of the subject guide for Korean modern literature.
