최근 새로운 형태의 공공도서관 즉, 타시설과 한 건물 혹은 한 대지에 같이 건립되는 복합시설 공공도서관이 부각되었다. 새로운 형태의 공공도서관이 이용자의 우호적인 지지와 지자체의 적극적인 지원을 받기 위해서는 이에 대한 이용자들의 평가와 요구에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 한 도서관의 운영전략 및 건립방안이 세워져야 할 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 서울소재 28개관의 복합시설 공공도서관 이용자를 대상으로 도서관 이용만족도와 복합화에 대한 인식을 조사하기 위하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 복합시설 공공도서관 이용자들은 복합시설 도서관을 이용하면서 인적자원, 정보자원, 서비스, 환경, 지역사회의 유대에 대해 대체적으로 만족하고 있으며, 복합화에 대해서도 긍정적으로 인식하고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 복합시설 공공도서관이 이용자에게 더 만족할 수 있는 환경과 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 도서관에 대한 편리한 접근성, 충분한 도서관의 규모 확보, 외부소음 방지 방안, 복합이용의 시너지 효과를 보일 수 있는 타시설과 연계, 복합시설 내 타시설과의 연계 프로그램 활성화 등이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Recently, attention has been drawn to a new form of a public library, that is, a public library in a complex facility constructed in the same building or site with another facility. To get active users’ or local governments’ supports in the public library in a complex facility, it is necessary to build library strategic plans based on the analysis of users’ evaluation and demands. Thus, this study analyzed the user satisfaction and perception of the 28 public libraries in complex facilities in Seoul. As a result, it was found that most users overall satisfied with public libraries in complex facilities in terms of human resources, information resources, and the links among services and positively perceived their environments and services. In order to provide more satisfaction to the users in public libraries in complex facilities first, it is necessary to improve the accessibility of libraries, to secure the sufficient library space, to prevent the outside noise, to link the facilities which bring mutual synergistic effect, and to develop a program and service accompanying other facilities.

유비쿼터스 사회의 도래와 함께, 공공도서관에 대한 이용자 요구의 변화는 정보제공기관, 문화서비스기관 및 교육기관으로써 역할과 기능을 수행의 필요성이 대두되었다. 유비쿼터스 환경에서 다목적 기능을 수행하는 공공도서관은 물리적 공간과 디지털 공간을 기반으로 서비스가 제공된다. 공간적 기반에 있어서 정보공유공간(information commons)은 유비쿼터스 도서관의 물리적인 공간 기반이라 할 수 있다. 특히, 유비쿼터스 환경의 도래와 함께, 물리적 공간의 효과적인 설계 및 활용은 멀티복합공간으로서 공공도서관의 기능과 역할수행에 있어서 매우 중요한 요소라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 공공도서관에서의 물리적 공간으로써 정보공유공간의 설계와 구축을 위한 설계 및 시설요소에 대하여 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 문헌조사, 사례 및 설문조사를 통하여 공공도서관의 정보공유공간에 대한 흐름과 요구사항을 도출하였으며 이를 통하여 유비쿼터스 환경에서 공공도서관의 물리적 공간으로써 정보공유공간의 구축을 위한 시설요소 및 설계원칙을 제안하였다.
Abstract
With the advent of uniquitous life, changes of users’ demands make a public library accomplish roles and functions of a complex service center providing information, education and culture service. As a multi-function center, a public library provides various services based on physical and digital space in ubiquitous environment. Information commons is a basement of physical space in an u-Library. Especially, with the advent of ubiquitous environment, design and use of physical space will be a critical issue for a public library to perform its role and function as a multiple complicated space. This study derives facilities and components for designing and implementing information commons in a public library as a physical space. To perform the goals, this study focuses on the newest trends and requirements through literature study, case study and survey. As a result, this study proposes components of facility and principles of design to implement information commons as a physical space in a public library.

최근 도서관 건립과 운영의 방향은 사람들의 변화된 삶의 방식을 반영하고 지역 환경에 기반한 특성화를 통한 혁신적 공간을 제안하고 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 A군의 한탄강 유네스코 세계지질공원 내 건립되는 (가칭)송대소도서관의 운영에 대한 목표로 복합문화시설로서의 역할, 워케이션의 성지로서 체류형 독서문화 문화공간으로 운영, A군의 랜드마크로서의 역할을 제시하였다. 운영전략으로는 (가칭)송대소도서관의 건립 타당성 확보, 운영 추진동력으로 도서관 정책 연계, 랜드스케이프 건축을 통한 지질특화도서관 운영에 따른 도서관 존재 당위성 입증을 전략으로 세웠다. 이에 따른 운영계획으로 인력, 장서, 서비스, 예산계획으로 구분하여 제시하였다.
Abstract
The directions of recent library construction and operation reflect people’s changed lifestyle and suggest innovative spaces specialized on the basis of the local environment. Hence, as the goals of the operation of (tentatively named) Songdaeso Library to be constructed within the Hantangang River UNESCO Global Geopark, this study proposes ‘acting as complex cultural facilities,’ ‘operating stay-type reading culture space which is a shrine for workcation,’ and ‘acting as the landmark of A-gun (郡, county).’ And this study works out strategies for its operation, which includes ‘securing the validity of the construction of (tentatively named) Songdaeso Library,’ ‘linking to library policy as the driving force behind its operation,’ and ‘demonstrating the necessity for the existence of the library arising from the operation of the geological specialized library through landscape architecture.’ It also presents concomitant operating plans, which are categorized into plans for manpower, library books, services, and budget.
