본 연구는 어린이전자책에 대한 체계적인 연구를 통해 전자적인 형태의 아동 도서에 대한 주도권을 포털사이트에서 도서관으로 이동시키고 도서관의 정보서비스를 향상시키는데 도움을 주고자 한다. 이를 위하여 A대학도서관에서 서비스 중인 어린이전자책사이트 이용현황을 주 분석대상으로 정하였으며, 도서관 어린이전자책서비스의 활성화를 위한 바람직한 수서정책도 제시하였다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to move the initiative of children's electronic books from portal sites to libraries and to help improving libraries' information services through their systematic study. The present use state of an e-book site for children that is currently serviced by A-academic library was mainly analyzed for the study. The desirable acquisition policies were also suggested for the activation of the juvenile e-book services for libraries.

공공도서관에서 제공하고 있는 디지털참고봉사의 현황과 발전을 이해하기 위하여, 전국의 공공도서관 홈페이지를 직접 접속하여 관찰하고 이용 데이터를 수집하여 분석하였으며. 2003년에 수집하였던 데이터와 비교하였다. 모두 404개의 디지털참고봉사 사이트에 대하여, 접근수준, 서비스방식, 링크명칭, 서비스정책, 웹폼, FAQ 등 서비스 제공 관련 특성을 분석한 후, 15일간 수행된 질문응답 데이터를 수집하여 이용도서관, 이용수준, 응답비율, 질문유형 등 서비스 성능을 분석하였다. 서비스 현황에 대한 이해와 문제점, 그리고 4년 동안에 걸친 변화가 식별되었으며, 향후 발전을 위한 제언이 이루어졌다.
Abstract
To understand the present status and the development of the digital reference service in Korean public libraries, a nationwide site observation was attempted in 2007. The collected data was analyzed, then compared with the previous analysis based on a 2003 data. For the 404 sites offering digital reference, operational characteristics, such as access level, service mode, link description, policy, web form, and FAQ, are analyzed. Performance analysis focused on the presence of question posting, volume of usage, response rate, and types of the questions, for the data collected for 15 days through question and answer transcript recording. Results reveal findings on the present situation as well as changes over 4 years.Related problems are identified. The conclusion includes suggestions for improving digital reference service.

전문대학은 4년제 대학과 더불어 주요한 고등인력 양성기관임과 동시에 수적으로도 막중한 비중을 차지하고 있음에도 불구하고 도서관발전 종합계획에는 전문대학도서관만의 열악한 특성을 고려하지 않고 전체 대학도서관을 활성화할 수 있는 방안들만이 제시되고 있어서 전문대학도서관은 여전히 소외되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전문대학도서관들의 현황을 문헌조사를 통해 조사하여 전문대학도서관의 문제점을 도출하고 이를 기반으로 국가차원에서 지원해 주어야 할 정책을 6가지로 나누어 제안하고 있다. 즉, 전문대학 특성에 따른 장서개발, 전문대학 특성화에 따른 주제전문 도서관 구축, 전문대학도서관간 상호협력 강화, 전문대학도서관 서비스 강화, 전문대학도서관 법적 개선 및 평가지표 개발, 수요조사 연구 및 서비스 품질 평가 등이다.
Abstract
Community colleges are key constituents of higher education in Korea, along with four-year universities. The number of community colleges in Korea also holds significance. However, the main focus of the Master Plan for Library Development decisively lies in university libraries, with little consideration to the poor condition of community college libraries. This study aims to identify problems of community college libraries by conducting a document research on their current standing and, based on that, to present six policy proposals for government support. They are a) to develop library collections based on the school specialty, b) to build theme-oriented libraries, c) to facilitate cooperation between community college libraries, d) to reinforce capacities for library service, e) to improve legal status of community college libraries and develop an evaluation index, f) and to estimate demand and evaluate service quality.
