대학도서관 발전계획은 외부적으로는 도서관의 역할과 발전 방향에 대한 명시적인 선언이자 내부적으로는 도서관 서비스 제공을 위한 지침으로 기능한다는 점에서 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 발전계획 수립을 위해서는 국제적, 국가적 환경에 대한 이해, 개별 대학과 대학구성원에 대한 이해가 요구된다. 본 연구는 대학도서관과 관련된 국제 환경의 추세를 파악하기 위하여 해외 대학도서관 발전계획 사례를 조사하고, 내용분석과 네트워크 분석을 통해 그 동향을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 대부분의 해외 대학도서관에서는 ‘협업’, ‘컬렉션 개발 및 구축’, ‘연구지원’이라는 키워드를 주축으로 다양한 전략과 세부 계획을 제시하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 향후 대학도서관 발전계획 수립 시 고려해야 하는 사항으로, 발전계획 내 대학도서관의 사명과 비전, 가치의 구체적 명시, 문화적 다양성성과 형평성, 포용성 등의 핵심가치의 중요성 인식, 대학도서관 내외부의 파트너십 및 협업의 중요성 인식, 경영 목적 달성의 도구로서 대학도서관 발전계획의 활용을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The academic library development plan has external importance as it explicitly declares the library’s role and development direction. Internally, it is also a library service guideline. To develop the development plan, libraries must understand the trends and needs of international, national, and affiliating universities and their constituents. Accordingly, this research includes case, content, and network analyses of foreign academic libraries’ development plans to identify the trends. The analysis results show most foreign academic libraries employed various strategies and plans, which can be characterized as ‘collaboration,’ ‘collection development,’ and ‘research support.’ Consequently, we propose the following factors to consider when developing an academic library development plan: specification of mission, vision, and core values; recognition of core values such as diversity, equity, and inclusion; awareness of the significance of collaboration and partnership with other units within the universities and external organizations; and utilization of university library development plans as tools for achieving management objectives.

본 연구는 학제성이 강한 HCI 연구 내에서 문헌정보학 분야 연구가 수행한 연구내용과 역할을 분석하고 향후 타 학문분야와의 협력 가능성 및 수행 가능한 연구주제를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구에서 사용된 데이터는 문헌정보학 분야의 대표적인 국내 학술지 및 한국HCI학회 학술대회의 발표논문집에서 추출한 키워드와 소속 정보이며, 이들을 활용하여 네트워크 분석과 빈도 분석을 하였다. 국내 HCI 분야에서는 정보통신, 컴퓨터공학, 기술산업 등이 활발한 교류를 보이고 있었으며, 문헌정보학은 연구 협력에 있어서 비교적 소극적이었다. 문헌정보학 연구의 HCI 분야 내 역할을 살펴본 결과, 타 분야와 협력이 필요한 전문적인 주제에 대해서는 그 관심도가 높지 않음을 발견했다. 그러나 문헌정보학 분야 학술지에 타 학문분야 연구자들이 HCI 관련 논문을 다수 게재했다는 점과 기술산업 분야와도 어느 정도 연결성을 가지고 있다는 점에서, 향후 문헌정보학 분야가 기술산업 등 타 분야와의 협력을 통한 공동연구를 적극적으로 수행한다면 학계 간의 연구주제 확장 및 발전에 기여할 수 있음을 발견하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze how the Library and Information Science (LIS) related research efforts in Korea contributed to the progress of the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) discipline to identify the potential collaboration research partners and topics. The following data was used for the network and frequency analysis: titles, keywords and affiliation information extracted from the Korean journals serving the LIS fields as well as the conference proceedings of the Korean HCI society. Information communication technology, computer engineering, and technology industry had been active in research collaborations but LIS field was comparatively not active. This study was able to determine that LIS researchers carried out important research but they had not much interests in the topics that required interdisciplinary collaboration. However, there were a number of papers, which were not authored by LIS discipline researchers, in the LIS related journals. In addition, there are a few ongoing interdisciplinary research projects which included LIS researchers. This reveals that it is possible for the LIS field could play an important role in the future if the researchers actively participate the collaborative projects.

본 연구는 실증적 데이터의 검토 및 분석을 통해 이용자연구와 실용연구 분야의 특징을 발견하고, 이용자연구와 실용연구 분야의 융합 가능성을 논하고자 수행되었다. 이용자연구의 개척 및 확장 가능성을 살펴보기 위해, 실용연구 분야 중 UX 연구를 선택하여 비교하였고, 이용자연구 영역과 UX 영역의 주제어 및 분야별 중복도를 살펴보았다. 연구를 위해 국내 이용자연구 3,370개 논문과 국내 UX 연구 2,413개 논문, 국외 이용자연구 3,875개 논문과 국외 UX 연구 2,515개 논문을 수집하였고, 단순 출현빈도를 포함한 계량정보학적 분석 방법을 이용하여 네트워크 맵핑 및 순위 선정, 시기별 비교분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과 국내의 이용자연구와 UX 연구 중복도는 국외보다 낮은 편이었고, 분야 간 협업의 활발성이 중복도와 연관이 있다고 해석할 수 있었다. 시기별 분석을 통해 이용자연구와 UX 연구간 중복되는 키워드가 점차 증가하고 있음을 발견하였기에, 향후 이용자연구와 실용연구 분야 간의 융합이 활발히 일어날 가능성을 엿볼 수 있었다.
Abstract
This research aims to discover various aspects of the user studies and the research in practice and also to propose collaboration methods by empirical analysis of the data. To determine the application applicability of the user studies in other subject areas, the degree of keyword overlap between the user studies and the User Experience (UX), one of the research in practice discipline, was measured. The quantitative information science methods including simple frequency analysis were applied to more than ten thousand published papers to generate the network mapping and ranking as well as comparative analysis by time. The analysis result showed that there were slightly lesser overlap between the user studies and the UX in the domestically published articles than the international ones. It also revealed that there is a relationship between the actual occurrences of collaboration and the keyword overlap. The temporal analysis showed that there is increasingly more keyword overlap between two disciplines and thus it is possible to predict the active convergence in the future.
