본 연구는 다양한 유형의 시각예술자원을 소장 기관이나 관리 주체에 관계없이 통합적으로 접근하고 이용할 수 있도록 하기 위한 통합검색의 필요성을 파악하고, 그 실현을 위한 기반 논의와 방안을 제시하기 위한 목적을 가지고 있다. 이를 위하여 국내 시각예술자원 관리 기관의 자원 관리 및 검색 서비스 현황을 파악하고, 국외의 관련 사례 분석을 통해 시각예술자원의 통합 검색 유형과 특성을 파악하였다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 향후 국내 시각예술자원의 통합검색의 적용을 위해 필요한 환경적 측면과 메타데이터와 시스템적인 측면의 기반조성 및 적용 방향성을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal a necessity of and a strategy for the integrated use and the single search across the visual arts resources. For this purpose, at first, analysis was made on the current situation of Korean visual art resource management and retrieval systems. Secondly, the single search methods and its related technological foundation in foreign art resource institutions were categorized and analysed. As a result, this study suggested foundation for creating a sustainable environment for collaboration and single search that enhance access to and use of art resources.

본 연구의 주요 목적은 시대 변화에 능동적으로 대응할 수 있는 한글도서관의 미래 지향적 역할을 탐색하고, 이를 위한 발전 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 우선 한글도서관의 현재 기능, 자원, 자료, 온․오프라인 서비스 및 도서관 웹사이트를 철저히 분석하였다. 국내외의 박물관 및 미술관 내 도서관, 그리고 선진 도서관의 운영 현황과 모범 사례를 조사하여 분석하고, 최종적으로 한글도서관의 중장기 발전 방안을 수립하고, 이를 위한 단계별 세부 추진 방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 본 연구 결과는 한글도서관이 한글 관련 도서관으로서 중심적인 역할을 더욱 효과적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The main objective of this study is to explore the forward-looking role of a National Hangeul Museum Library that can actively respond to changes in the era and to propose development strategies for this purpose. To achieve this, the current functions, resources, materials, online and offline services, and the library's website were thoroughly analyzed. We conducted research on the operational status and best practices of libraries within museums, art galleries, and advanced libraries both domestically and internationally. Ultimately, we aimed to establish medium to long-term development strategies for the Korean library and derive step-by-step detailed implementation plans. The results of this study can serve as foundational data to help the National Hangeul Museum Library effectively fulfill its central role as a library related to the Korean language and culture.
