초록

The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical framework and practical methodology to extend the scope of Library and Information Science by incorporating the usability evaluation of e-book, which has considerably increased in proportion in the digital library. By surveying e-book users and through statistical analysis, it was found that rebuilding a set of usability evaluation factors for e-books is necessary to activate e-books in the digital libraries. Abstract

초록

전자문서는 사람이 판독할 수 있는 문서 측면과 시스템이 이해하고 자동 처리할 수 있는 전자적 측면을 모두 갖추고 있어서 가용성이 뛰어나다. 전자문서를 이용하는 목적이 가용성이라면 이 특성이 잘 발휘되어 효과적이고 효율적인 전자문서유통이 되도록 강구하여야 할 것이다. 정부의 전자문서유통 상황은 종래의 종이문서 중심 사고방식과 각 부처별 업무중심 관점에서 아직 벗어나지 못하여 이러한 장점을 충분히 살리지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전자문서유통의 발전 방향을 제시하여 향후 방대하게 생산될 전자문서의 효용을 높이는 데에 도움을 주는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 우선 전자문서의 개념을 정의하고 XML을 이용하여 문서의 구조정보를 표현하는 이유와 한계, 정부 전자문서유통의 문제점을 설명하였다. 그리고 향후 정보 표현 방안, 문서 구성 방안과 표준 관리 방안을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The electronic documents have the documental aspect that can legible by human and the electronic aspect that can be interpreted and processed automatically by machinery. This usability of electronic documents must be the reason that people use them in almost all the business areas rapidly in these days. That is because we have to utilize the characteristics to interchange electronic documents(EDI) effectively and efficiently. The electronic document interchange of Korean government cannot make the best of this benefit due to the traditional way of thinking based on paper document and the viewpoint of individual business, organization, and project. This paper proposed a direction of EDI for Korean government. At first, the concept of electronic docuemnts is defined. The reason and limitations of structuring the documents with XML and the hidden problems of present EDI in Korean public sector are also explained. And the way to preserve information, to design the structure of electronic document, and to maintain relevant standards is proposed.

웹사이트는 기존의 정보의 저장소로서의 역할에서 벗어나 이용자와의 커뮤니케이션과 상호작용을 위한 동적인 정보접근 수단으로 변화하고 있다. 이러한 기능이 효과적으로 수행되기 위해서는, 웹사이트에 수록되는 정보는 체계적이며 이용자가 쉽게 이해할 수 있는 방식으로 조직되어야 한다. 이러한 측면은 대학 웹사이트에서는 더욱 중요한 의미를 갖게 된다. 하지만, 현재의 대학 웹사이트에서 채용하고 있는 정보구조에는 이용자의 정보요구가 반영되지 않고 있으며, 일률적인 체계로 정보를 조직함으로써 웹사이트 전체의 효용성을 저하시키고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서, 본 연구는 이용자의 정보요구를 최대한 반영하고 웹사이트 전체의 정보접근성을 확보할 수 있는 대학 웹사이트의 정보구조를 제안하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다.

Abstract

In the current information environment, the concept of a website has been transformed from the repository of information to means of accessing information which can communicate and interact with users. To function well as an accessing tool to information, the information embedded in a website should be organized in a way that users can easily understand the whole informational structure. This aspect of a website might be more important to a university's website. However, the informational structures which current university's websites adopt do not reflect their users' information needs. They construct their structure uniformly, and it causes the decrease of the websites' usability. To solve these problems, this study proposes a new and systematical way of constructing a university's website which can reflect users' information needs and ensure the usability of the websites.
