본 연구에서는 기존에 국내·국외에서 수행된 주요 웹사이트의 사용성 평가와 관련된 연구에 적용된 기준을 비교·분석하여, 우리나라 디지털도서관의 웹사이트 평가에 적용 가능한 일반적인 웹사이트 사용성 평가기준을 도출함으로써 향후 이용자 서비스의 품질향상을 통한 효율적인 웹서비스를 제공할 수 있기 위한 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 디지털도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 한 사용성 평가기준은 서로 다른 수많은 특성과 목적을 가지고 운영되는 웹사이트에 일률적으로 적용되어질 수는 없다. 적용대상에 따라 평가 기준이 달라지거나 최소한 각 평각기준의 비중이 달라져야 할 것이다. 디지털도서관 웹사이트의 경우 대학도서관, 공공도서관, 전문도서관, 학교도서관 등 해당 분야별로 특성에 따른 웹사이트가 구축되어진다. 본 연구에서 제시한 디지털도서관 웹사이트 사용성 평가기준(안)은 일반적으로 준수해야 할 항목에서의 기준이라 할 수 있다
Abstract
This study is to develope the usability evaluation criteria for improving quality of user services in digital library website. It compared and analyzed major eight studies concerning usability evaluation of library website in foreign and domestic. This paper was suggested 36 items of evaluation criteria that are belongs to six domain(quality of links, feedback mechanism, accessibility, design, navigation and searching). 본 연구는 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템과 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템을 구축하고 두 실험시스템의 사용성을 비교 평가하여 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템의 유용성을 밝히고자 하였다. 사용성은 전체적으로 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템 보다 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템이 더 높게 나타났고, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 국내 도서관들이 인터넷서점, 검색엔진, 웹포털 등에서 공개한 도서검색용 Open API를 통해 제공되는 풍부한 콘텐트를 온라인목록에서 공유하고 활용하면 서지데이터의 확충, 주제접근과 주제검색 능력의 확대, 메타 검색서비스의 확장, 소장도서의 이용가능성 증대, 목록비용의 절감 등에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is aimed to clarify the usefulness of meta search system using Open API of library online catalog by constructing OPAC-based search system using Open API of library online catalog and meta search system using Open API of library online catalog, and comparing the usability of the two experimental search systems. As for usability, on the whole, it was higher in meta search system using Open API of library online catalog than OPAC-based search system using Open API of library online catalog, and there was statistically significant difference. Therefore, if libraries share and use enriched content which is provided through Open API for book search, which is opened by Internet bookstores, search engines and Web portals, it is expected that it will be helpful in enhancing bibliographic data, expanding subject access point, empowering subject search ability, extending meta search service, improving book availability, and reducing catalog cost.

본 연구에서는 웹 스타일 가이드를 구축하고 있는 해외 5개 대학 도서관 웹사이트의 스타일 가이드를 분석한 후 국내 10개 지역거점대학 도서관의 웹사이트의 구성요소를 추출하여, 공통항목을 도출하였다. 그리고 도서관 웹사이트에 있어서의 사용성(usability)과 접근성(accessibility)에 관한 연구결과들을 적용하여 대학도서관 웹사이트의 전반적인 디자인 흐름에 대한 통일성과 규칙성을 발견하였고 이를 바탕으로 웹사이트에 일관된 시각적 아이덴티티(identity)를 부여하기 위한 요소인 대학도서관 웹 스타일 가이드 요소들을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the web style guide of five foreign university library web sites and extracted the web site components of main university libraries in ten domestic areas and then drew the common factors from the components. This study also found out the unity and rule in the general design trends of university library web sites. In order to do this, the results for the usability and accessibility of university library web sites were applied to this study. And being based on it, this study presents the web style guide components of the university libraries which are the factors to endow the web site with the consistently visual identity.
