본 연구는 국내 대학도서관 웹사이트를 조사하여 온라인 주제가이드의 현황을 분석하고 개선 방안을 제언하였다. 조사된 100개 대학 중 14개 대학만이 온라인 주제가이드를 제공하고 있는 것으로 나타나 국내 온라인 주제가이드의 구축은 초기 단계인 것으로 나타났다. 온라인 주제가이드들은 내용 구성면에서 볼 때 접근성, 포맷의 일관성, 자원통합성 영역은 우수한 것으로 평가되었으나 주제 다양화, 이용자 교육, 검색 영역에서 낮은 수준에 머물러 있는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 온라인 주제가이드가 지향해야 할 방향은 신속한 정보자원으로의 접근, 주제 특화된 이용자 교육, 사서와의 원활한 커뮤니케이션을 제공하는 원스탑(one-stop) 서비스가 되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study investigated the current state of online subject guides in Korean academic libraries and suggests improvement. Through the examination of 100 academic libraries' Web sites, only 14 online subject guides were identified, showing that the development of online subjects guides in Korea is still in infancy. The examined online subject guides were evaluated as high quality in terms of accessibility, integration of information resources, and format consistency, but low quality in the provision of specialized subjects, user instruction, and information retrieval systems. An online subject guide should be a one-stop service that provides fast access to information resources along with subject-specialized user instruction and effective communication with librarians.

본 연구는 지역방송국들의 기록관리 현황을 분석하고 개선방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 분석의 기준점이 되어 줄 KBS서울총국을 비롯하여 KBS 지역방송국 1곳, MBC 지역방송국 1곳, 지역민방 2곳을 방문하여 담당자와의 면담을 통한 현황 조사를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 대부분의 지역방송국은 디지털로 생산되어 송출된 방송영상물은 방송국 내 서버를 통해 비교적 체계적으로 보관하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 이들은 과거에 생산된 아날로그 자료에 대한 디지털화 작업을 실시하지 않고, 보유 기록물의 수량조차 정확하게 파악하지 못하고 있었다. 게다가 보존설비나 검색장비가 낙후되어 기록물에 대한 기본적인 보존과 이용에 있어서 어려움이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 방송국 자체 기록관리 규정 마련, 목록 작성을 통한 보유 기록물 수량 파악, 아날로그 기록에 대한 디지털화 작업 실시, PD들에 대한 메타데이터 교육 등의 개선방안을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the current status of records management in local broadcasting stations. To that end, it conducted interviews with personnels in charge of keeping records in KBS in J province, MBC in J province, and 2 local commercial broadcasting stations as well as KBS headquarter. The findings show that the local broadcasting stations keep digital files of born-digital broadcast records in a server in a relatively systematic way. However, they never digitalized their analog records and do not even know the exact volume of total records they own. In addition, they have significant difficulties in preserving and utilizing broadcast records because of outdated preservation facilities and information retrieval systems. Based on the findings, this study suggests ways to improve current broadcast record management such as preparation of record management guidelines, construction of an inventory for owned records, digitalization initiative, and provision of metadata education for PDs, etc.
