본 연구는 국내 시각장애인학교 도서관의 운영방향에 대한 기틀을 마련하고, 도서관 프로그램에 대한 실제 이용자의 인식정도를 반영한 체계적인 프로그램을 개발하기 위하여 진행되었다. 국내 시각장애 학교도서관 세 곳을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하였으며, 분석결과를 기반으로 시각장애인학교 도서관 프로그램 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 프레임워크의 적용가능성 및 효과성을 검증하기 위하여 연구팀과 각 학교의 교사 간의 협의를 통하여 각 학교의 상황에 맞는 총 10개의 프로그램을 설계하여 실제 학생들을 대상으로 수업을 실시하였다. 프로그램 종료 후 조사한 결과 도서관 이용 빈도, 독서량, 도서관에 대한 인식, 정보활용 및 자기주도적 학습의지의 영역에서 모두 긍정적인 반응이 증가한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The study goals are establishing a library management plan for the school for the blind in Korea and also developing a structured library program, which reflected the patron’s perception. We surveyed the students in three schools for the blind to identify their perception and usage statistics of the libraries. The analysis of the survey led to a school library program framework consisting of four types. To verify the applicability and effectiveness of the framework, we designed ten programs to meet the needs of the schools by consulting respective school’s teachers. We administered the second survey after the classes, and we found that there were positive increases in the frequency of library use, a number of books read, perception about the libraries, amount of information used, and self-directed learning willingness.

본 연구는 독서공간으로서의 학교도서관에 주목하고 독서를 위한 학교도서관 이용 시 공간특성 요소에 대한 중학생 이용자의 인식을 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 선행연구와 예비 연구를 통해 공간특성 요소를 선정하고 각 공간특성 요소에 대해 학생들이 중요하게 생각하는 정도와 충족하는 정도를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리고 이용자의 인식이 이용현황 및 학교도서관 독서활동 경험에 따라 차이가 있는지 살펴보았으며, 학교도서관 이용자 만족도와 지속이용의도에 영향을 미치는지 파악하였다. 더불어 공간특성 요소의 인식이 지속이용의도에 영향을 미치는데 있어 학교도서관 이용자 만족도가 매개 역할을 하는지 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중학교 4곳에 재학 중인 342명의 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 공간특성 요소 중 소통성, 다양성, 안전성, 편의성에 대한 이용자의 인식이 이용현황에 따라 차이를 보였으며, 소통성, 쾌적성, 분위기가 이용자 만족도에, 심미성과 소통성이 지속이용의도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이 중 소통성, 쾌적성, 분위기는 학교도서관 이용자 만족도를 매개하여 지속이용의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 독서를 위한 공간으로서 학교도서관을 조사함으로써 학생들의 독서 지원을 위한 방안을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to understand students’ perceptions of the spatial characteristics of school libraries when they use them for reading. We selected a set of spatial characteristics by reviewing the literature and conducting a preliminary investigation. Then, we examined how students perceived the importance of and how satisfied they were with each characteristic. In addition, we investigated how students’ perceptions differ by the library uses and reading-related activities. We also studied whether the satisfaction of school library users affects their continued use of the libraries. We also verified whether school library user satisfaction is an intervening variable in continued-use intention, which is affected by spatial characteristics perception. We conducted a survey of 342 students from four middle schools. The analysis of the survey outcomes shows differences in library use due to spatial characteristics such as convenience, communicability, diversity, and safety. Factors such as communicability, comfortability, and ambience affected user satisfaction positively. Both aesthetics and communicability also positively influenced the continued-use intention. Furthermore, we identified that communicability, comfortability, and ambience eventually impacted the continued-use intention via user satisfaction, an intervening variable. The significance of this study is that it considered the direction of the school library to support students’ reading by regarding the school library as a space for reading.

본 연구는 교사들의 생활교육에 대한 정보요구와 교육청으로부터 배부되는 교육지침에 대한 교사 인식 간 관계를 밝혀 이를 기반으로 한 학교도서관 정보서비스 제안에 목적을 두었다. 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 연구 모형을 제작하고 설계를 진행하였으며, 예비연구를 통한 심층면담을 분석하여 연구에서 고려할 요소들을 추출하고 설문 문항을 개발하였다. 경기도는 4개 권역으로 나누어지며, 각 권역별 3개 학교에 설문을 실시한 후 최종적으로 217부의 데이터를 최종 분석에 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 학교도서관의 생활교육 정보요구에 대한 관심이 궁극적으로 교사들의 학생생활교육 실태 개선에 영향을 미친다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 학교도서관에서 제공되는 정보서비스를 향상시키는 방법을 제시하였으며, 특히 교사들의 생활지도 정보요구를 학교 내부에서 해결하도록 학교도서관 서비스를 제안했다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to present the relationship between the teachers’ information needs regarding guidance and the perception of educational guidelines issued by the Office of Education. The research design was conducted based on the reviewing theoretical background studies, and questionnaires were found in in-depth semi-structured interviews in a pilot study. Gyeonggi Province is divided into four regions, which is the target of the survey. Teachers of three schools in each region were surveyed, and eventually 217 copies of the survey were used for the final analysis. The result shows that the role of school libraries in caring for teachers’ information needs ultimately influences the improvement of teachers’ guidance. Based on this result, the study suggests ways to improve information services provided by school libraries. In particular, the study is meaningful in that it has presented a potential service plan that can be performed by school libraries to help address teachers’ information needs about guidance in schools.

본 연구는 과학영재학교 재학생을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하여 정보요구와 정보이용행태를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 선행연구를 바탕으로 연구를 설계하고, 전국 8개의 과학영재학교 중 6개 학교에 재학 중인 10명의 학생들을 대상으로 반구조화된 면담을 진행하여 정보요구와 정보이용행태 전반을 탐색하였다. 과학영재학교 학생들의 정보요구를 교과 활동과 교과 외 활동 영역으로 확인할 수 있었고, 학생들의 주요 관심 주제인 수업 및 학습, 연구 활동에서의 정보이용행태를 ISP 모형 기반으로 살펴보았다. 정보 이용의 전 과정에서 선호정보원을 파악하고, 이를 종합하여 과학영재학교 학생들의 정보이용행태의 특이점과 시사점을 논의하였다. 본 연구는 영재학교 도서관 연구를 위한 기초자료로 사용되며, 과학 주제 분야에 심화적인 관심과 재능이 있는 학생들을 위한 서비스를 제공하기 위한 자료로도 활용할 수 있는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze students’ information needs and information-seeking behavior at science schools for gifted through in-depth interviews. The research design was conducted based on previous studies. Through in-depth interviews, this study examined ten students from six out of eight science schools for the gifted in Korea for information needs and overall information-seeking behavior. The results showed the information needs of students at science schools for gifted in the areas of curricular and extracurricular activities as well as the information-seeking behavior in teaching, learning, and research activities, which were the main topics of interest to students based on the ISP model. Based on these results, we identified the preferred information sources in the information-seeking process and discussed the peculiarities and implications of students’ information-seeking behavior. The research is meaningful as it can be used as a basis for further research on the science school for gifted library and as a resource for providing services for students with deep interests and talents in science subject areas.

본 연구는 도시와 농어촌 각 청소년 집단의 정보 요구를 충족시키는 학교도서관 정보 서비스 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 두 청소년 집단의 일상 정보 행태를 비교하였다. 특히, 두 청소년 집단의 일상에서의 정보 추구 행태뿐만 아니라 정보의 장의 종류와 정보의 장 형성을 방해하는 요인도 함께 비교하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 정보 활용 일지와 반구조적 심층 인터뷰를 이용하여 두 청소년 집단의 일상 정보 행태의 특성을 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 정보 서비스 방안들은 추후에 도시와 농어촌의 학교도서관에서 정보 서비스를 기획하는데 활용될 것이라 기대된다.
Abstract
This study compared the everyday-life information behaviors of urban and rural adolescents to suggest ways that school library information services can better meet the information needs of each of these groups. It focused its comparison not only on the everyday-life information-seeking behaviors but also on kinds of information grounds and barriers forming information grounds. Two qualitative methods, written activity logs and semi-structured in-depth interviews, were used to examine everyday-life information behaviors of adolescents. It is expected that the proposed strategies will be used in planning actual school library information services for urban or rural youths.

본 연구는 국내 공공도서관의 어린이청소년서비스 및 프로그램의 현황을 조사하고 문제점을 파악하여 개선방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 2016년 기준 국가도서관통계시스템의 자료와 전국 108곳의 공공도서관 어린이청소년서비스 담당사서들로부터 설문조사를 통해 어린이청소년서비스 현황을 파악하고 서비스 수준에 대한 사서의 인식을 조사하였다. 분석 결과, 공공도서관은 인력 및 예산의 부족, 시설의 협소함, 유연하지 않은 프로그램 내용 등의 문제점이 서로 복합적으로 작용하여 서비스 수준을 높이기 어려운 상황임을 나타냈다. 이에 대한 개선방안으로 어린이청소년의 흥미 유발 및 참여자 간 유대감을 형성하는 프로그램 개발, 학교 및 지역 내 유관기관과의 연계활동 증진, 도서관 프로그램의 참여를 높이기 위한 다양한 방식 제안, 정보 소외계층 중점 서비스의 제공, 그리고 도서관 발전을 위해 다양한 정책적 지원 요청 등을 제안하였다. 이렇듯 본 연구는 프로그램 기획부터 정부 및 지자체의 지원방안까지 다방면의 개선방안을 제안함으로써 도서관이 나아갈 방향을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the status and also to develop improvement plans for the children and youth services of the public libraries. To determine the information service status and the librarians’ perceptions on the levels of services they provided, the 2016 Korean National Library Statistics System data and the survey results from the children and youth program librarians in the 108 public libraries were analyzed. The analysis revealed the problems such as lack of human resources and budget, shortage of space, and an inflexible program curriculum, which affect the program as a whole negatively. Five suggestions were made to remedy the problems. They are: 1) development of the new programs, which can interest the children and youth and motivate the sense of association among the program participants; 2) increase the number of the programs including the schools and other related organizations nearby region; 3) incorporating the new program formats to enhance the participation; 4) starting the new services explicitly targeted for the information-poor group of people; and 5) soliciting policy-level support for the libraries. In summary, this study made a few suggestions for the libraries ranging from planning the programs to requesting assistance from the national as well as the regional governments.

본 연구는 청소년의 가상 정보 공간에서의 일상적인 활동을 위한 정보 이용 행태에 관해 살펴보았다. 기존의 물리적 정보 공간의 개념을 가상 정보 공간으로 확장하였고, 청소년 시기의 특징을 반영하여 다양한 일상적인 활동과 또래집단을 고려하였다. 이를 위하여 서울시 중고등학생을 대상으로 사전 면담 및 설문조사를 실시하였고, 청소년들의 가상 정보 공간과 정보 이용에 대한 양상을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 학교도서관에서 청소년들을 위한 교육 프로그램 및 서비스 제공 시에 고려할 수 있는 시사점을 제안하였고, 추후 학교도서관에서의 정보 서비스 기획에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study investigates the information use behavior of Korean youths in a virtual information grounds. The concept of a physical information ground is expanded to include virtual spaces. A variety of hobbies and peer groups of Korean youths are considered to determine the characteristics of these youths. The study was formulated and conducted using group interviews for pretest and a survey given to respondents who are junior high and high school students in Seoul. It is expected that the findings and proposals will be used for planning educational programs and information services in school libraries.
