초록
조선총독부 공문서는 근대사 연구의 가장 핵심적인 정보원이다. 이 연구의 목적은 조선총독부 공문서를 원활히 활용할 수 있도록 지원하는 기능분류체계를 개발하기 위한 원칙과 단계를 제시하는 것이다. 우선, 기능적 분류체계를 위한 이론적 근거를 마련하기 위해 기록물 분류의 개념과 역할, 분류 원칙에 대해 살펴보고, ‘기능적 출처’ 개념 도입의 필요성을 제시하였다. 또한 조선총독부 공문서 분류에 왜 기능분류가 적합한지를 살펴보았고, 기능분류 사례와 그 시사점도 살펴보았다. 이러한 이론적 연구와 조선총독부 조직 및 기능 분석 결과를 토대로 조선총독부 기록물을 위한 분류체계 개발을 위한 원칙을 설정하였다. 아울러 개념화, 용어화, 기호화를 고려한 개발모형을 도출하였으며, 분류표와 함께 시소러스를 연계 구축할 수 있는 방안도 제시하였다.
Abstract
Public records, produced during the period of Government-General of Chosun, are essential sources for Korean modern history research. The purpose of this study is to provide a guideline for developing function-based classification scheme for the records. This present paper begins with analyzing archival principles regarding the function-based classification, and examines the problems of current arrangement practices. Based on these analyses, it suggests a guideline for constructing a classification system and a functional thesaurus for the public records of Government-General of Chosun. This guideline also covers functional analysis process and some considerations of different classification aspects which are conceptual, verbal and notational.

기록물 생산기관에 부여된 행정표준기관코드(Standard Administration Code) 식별기호체계를 이용하여 동일 정체성과 동일 신원을 지닌 기록물 최종 생산기관명을 유일한 우선어 형식(preferred form)으로 정의하였다. 또한 동일 정체성과 동일 신원을 지닌 생산기관명에 대해 다양한 형식의 언어와 문자로 알려진 이형형식의 접근점 중에 대표 이름형식 접근점을 선정하고 온톨로지로 기술하였다. 이로써 과거부터 현재에 이르기까지 동일 정체성과 동일 신원의 생산기관이 생산한 모든 기록물에 대해 식별․접근할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 ‘출처주의 원칙’과 ‘원질서 존중의 원칙’이라는 기본적인 기록물 관리 원칙을 온톨로지 환경에서도 준수함으로써, 기록물에 대한 관리방식 개선과 이용자들에게 기록물 접근의 편의성 및 확장된 검색결과를 제공할 수 있도록 하였다.
Abstract
This study defined the name of records producing institution as the unique preferred form of access point which has same identification and same entity by using Standard Administration Code, and also described the name of records producing institution which has various name form as formal-name form of access point, which has same identification and same entity. This study make us be able to identify and access to all of the records that institution, has same identification and same entity, has produced. And the mechanic, I designed by ontology would make reinforce ‘the principle of provenance’ and ‘respect for orignal order’ and make user satisfy in useability of archives and expanded retrieval results.
