Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate image search query reformulation patterns in relation to image attribute categories. A total of 592 sessions and 2,445 queries from the Excite Web search engine log data were analyzed by utilizing Batley’s visual information types and two facets and seven sub-facets of query reformulation patterns. The results of this study are organized with two folds: query reformulation and categorical transition. As the most dominant categories of queries are specific and general/nameable, this tendency stays over various search stages. From the perspective of reformulation patterns, while the Parallel movement is the most dominant, there are slight differences depending on initial or preceding query categories. In examining categorical transitions, it was found that 60-80% of search queries were reformulated within the same categories of image attributes. These findings may be applied to practice and implementation of image retrieval systems in terms of assisting users’ query term selection and effective thesauri development.

본 연구는 유럽국가(스웨덴, 영국, 프랑스)의 국가도서관, 공공도서관, 장애인도서관을 각각 방문하여 도서관정책 및 정보서비스에 대한 질적 데이터를 수집하고 이를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 장애인을 위한 우리나라 도서관서비스의 정책을 현장에 적용시키기 위하여 고려해야 할 점을 제언하였다. 국립장애인도서관지원센터는 일관된 정책과 실행력을 갖출 수 있도록 전문기관으로 독립해야 하며, 민간장애인도서관의 역사성과 전문성이 계승될 수 있도록 지원해야 한다. 국가, 공공, 장애인도서관 및 학교, 대학도서관과의 협력적 체제정비로 대체자료 개발, 통합목록 및 전문서비스 개발이 요구되며, 도서관 내적인 협력뿐만 아니라 외적인 환경인 사회적 제도, 법적 제도 및 장애인관련단체, 지방자치단체 등의 협력 속에서 발전할 수 있도록 해야 한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present suggestions for Korean libraries for disabled person after collecting and analyzing qualitative data upon library policies of national libraries, public libraries and libraries for disabled person in European countries including Sweden, UK and France. Korean national library support center for the disabled should be independent in order to have consistent policy and ability for its execution. It should also support private libraries for the disabled in inheriting professionalism and accumulated history. Developing alternative material, integrated catalogue and professional service is required by cooperative and systematic arrangements among national and public libraries for disabled person including schools and university libraries. Also, it should be able to grow not only on the basis of internal cooperation among libraries but also with the help of external organizations like social and legal systems, organizations related with the disabled and regional self governing bodies.

FRBR, FRAD 개념모형과 RDA 목록규칙에는 서지개체와 접근제어개체 간 다양한 수준에서 발생하는 복합적이고 다원적인 관계유형들이 규정되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 관계유형을 술어논리에 기반하여 온톨로지 환경에서 개체 클래스의 인스턴스와 인스턴스 간 관계를 RDF/OWL의 객체속성(Object Property)을 서지세계의 개체 간 관계기술과 접근을 위한 새로운 제어기제이자 통합적 연결장치로서 그 적용과 활용 가능성을 시도하였다. 이를 위해 관계온톨로지 시스템을 구축하고 SPARQL 질의결과를 온톨로지 시각화도구를 통해 제시하였다. 이로써 온톨로지 기반의 ‘관계기술목록’이라는 새로운 목록업무 영역의 확장을 통해, 목록기능의 ‘다 대 다 집중’이라는 의미 확장, ‘개체단위 기반의 의미적 집중’, RDF/OWL 객체속성의 계층관계 상속을 이용한 ‘관계 추론’ 등을 연구결과로 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study proposes a ‘Bibliographic Universe Relationship Vocabulary’(burv) using the RDF/OWL Object Property under the SPO predicate logic according to the relationship type among all entities of bibliographic universe and implemented a ‘relationship ontology system’ to establish a new cataloging business domain called ‘Relationship Description Cataloging’ based on the ontology.

본 연구는 법학전문도서관이 제 역할과 기능을 할 수 있도록 실질적인 평가 내용을 다루어 법학전문도서관의 역할과 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하였다. 특히 법학전문도서관 사서들을 대상으로 그들의 의견을 수렴하여, 평가항목을 도출하였고, 법학전문도서관의 주 이용계층인 법학전문대학원 학생들을 대상으로 그들의 요구를 조사하고 분석하였다. 특히 독립적이고, 전문적으로 법학전문도서관을 위한 평가를 지향하였다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있으며, 법학전문도서관의 건물과 시설 그리고 소장자료의 양과 함께 소장자료의 질, 법학도서관 사서의 기능과 역할 그리고 이용자의 만족도를 증진시키며, 외적인 면과 함께 법학전문도서관의 내실을 갖추는 것을 목적으로 하였다.

Abstract

This study investigated factors and issues for law school library evaluation. Also, this study suggested the roles and guidelines for law school libraries to perform its own role and function. To carry out the research, surveys were conducted with the law librarians. Then surveys were conducted to investigate law school students' demands and behaviors. Especially this study evaluated law libraries which were not carried out independently and professionally until now and meaningful as it thoroughly investigated users' demands and behavior with law school libraries and function and roles of law librarians. To facilitate law school library services and functions, quality of the collections, librarians' role, and users' needs should be considered as well as buildings and physical facilities. Particularly, users' needs assessment and librarians' opinion survey will be imperative in implementing evaluation.
