이 연구는 대구경북지역의 주요 대학도서관 중 전자정보실 또는 이와 유사한 자료실을 운영하고 있는 5개 대학의 전자정보실을 대상으로 담당자에 대한 설문조사와 면담을 바탕으로 운영상의 문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 모색하고자 시도되었다. 인력과 규모 및 기기관련사항, 운영방법, 수행업무, 운영상의 문제점, 향후의 운영계획 및 장기발전방안에 관련된 현황을 분석하였다. 현황분석과 연구자의 전자정보실 업무수행경험을 바탕으로 전자정보실의 효과적인 운영 및 이용증진을 위한 개선방안을 제시하였다. 현재 이 지역대학도서관의 전자정보실 현황은 다양한 양상을 보이고 있으나, 그 실체에 대한 각 주체들의 공감대가 형성되지 못하였고, 전자정보실 자체의 종합적인 발전 목표 및 정책이 수립되지 못한 채 단기적인 계획 및 정책을 수립하고 운영되고 있다는 점은 유사한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the present conditions and operations of digital information rooms in the five selected university libraries located in Daegu and Kyoungpook area, with a special regard to the personnel, size of the room, facilities, collections, user instructions and public relations, and related tasks being done. It concludes with some suggestions and recommendations to improve the existing practices and the works in the room based on the result from this study.

본 연구는 어린이전자책에 대한 체계적인 연구를 통해 전자적인 형태의 아동 도서에 대한 주도권을 포털사이트에서 도서관으로 이동시키고 도서관의 정보서비스를 향상시키는데 도움을 주고자 한다. 이를 위하여 A대학도서관에서 서비스 중인 어린이전자책사이트 이용현황을 주 분석대상으로 정하였으며, 도서관 어린이전자책서비스의 활성화를 위한 바람직한 수서정책도 제시하였다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to move the initiative of children's electronic books from portal sites to libraries and to help improving libraries' information services through their systematic study. The present use state of an e-book site for children that is currently serviced by A-academic library was mainly analyzed for the study. The desirable acquisition policies were also suggested for the activation of the juvenile e-book services for libraries.

시민의 정보화 수준 향상을 위해 현재 서울특별시립의 공공도서관에서는 디지털 자료실을 개실하여 인터넷과 DVD 위성방송 등 다양한 전자정보원과 정보서비스를 제공하고 있으며 향후 더 많은 컨텐츠들로 서비스 할 계획이다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 서울특별시립 공공도서관 디지털 자료실의 활성화를 위해, S 도서관 전자정보실을 대상으로 마케팅 전략을 적용하여 디지털 자료실의 운영을 보다 체계화하여 정보서비스를 활성화하며, 궁극적으로 보다 많은 이용자를 확보하여, 이용률을 높이고 공공도서관의 정보서비스 경쟁력을 높이는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.
Abstract
Seoul City has been operating 17 public libraries to bridge the digital gap in the information society. Digital collection that has used recently, is providing various information services and information sources such as Internet. DVDs, satellite broadcasts and plan to offer service with more contents in the near future. In an attempt to facilitate the use of digital archives in public libraries in Seoul, this study thus applies marketing strategy to Electronic Information Center in the S Library and techniques can contribute a dynamic approach to total strategy development for library professionals that will ensure effective management and the achievement for their goals.

본 연구는 국내 대학도서관의 전자자원 메타데이터와 관련된 현황을 살펴보고, 정보조직 패러다임 및 목록 환경의 변화에 대응하기 위한 방향성을 제시하기 위함이다. 국내 대학도서관의 전자자원 도입 및 조직과 최근 정보자원 조직의 동향을 살펴보았고, 디지털콘텐츠 구축 건수 상위 30개 대학도서관의 홈페이지를 방문하여 현황과 문제점을 조사하였다. 앞으로 전자자원을 포함한 다양한 유형의 정보자원을 통합적으로 관리하고, 접근성을 강화하여 이용자들에게 확장된 목록의 기능을 제공하여야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study attempts to investigate the current practice of electronic resources in the academic libraries and to explore the changes of paradigm in the organization of information. It reviewed how academic libraries have acquired and organized electronic resources. It also investigated the library home pages of 30 academic libraries in order to identify the category of electronic resources, metadata, and linkage methods with various material types such as printed resources and theses. To perform extended functions of library catalogs, it is essential for academic libraries to manage the metadata of various resources together and provide enhanced access and linkage of related resources.

본 연구는 대학도서관에서 전자저널을 효과적으로 관리하고 서비스하기 위한 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여, 문헌조사 및 사례조사를 바탕으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 선행연구 분석에서는 전자저널과 관련된 다양한 이슈를 중심으로 이론적 배경을 조사하였으며, 사례조사로서 국내외 6개 대학도서관의 웹사이트를 접근, 목록, 이용자서비스 측면에서 분석하였다. 그리고 대학도서관에서 전자저널을 담당하고 있는 사서들을 대상으로 전자저널의 선정 및 구독 현황을 비롯하여 크게 8개 항목으로 47개의 문항으로 구성된 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 대학도서관에서 전자저널의 효과적 관리 및 서비스를 제공하기 위한 8가지 가이드라인을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to provide suggestions for the effective management and user services of electronic journals in university libraries. In order to do that literature reviews, case studies and survey questionaries were conducted. The case studied involved six university libraries, which were analyzed based on accessing, cataloging and user services. Questionaries consisting of forty-seven items in eight parts, including selection and subscription of electronic journals were distirbuted to the librarians who were in charge of managing electronic journals. Following an analysis on the survey, quidelines for effective management and user services of electronic journals were suggested.

이 연구에서는 K대학의 대학교수 및 일반대학원 재학생 367명을 대상으로 설문지법을 이용하여 전자저널의 이용행태와 전자저널의 서비스품질(서비스의 적합성, 이용의 편리성, 홍보, 이용교육) 및 무료이용지각이 고객만족에 미치는 영향과 이러한 고객만족이 전자저널에 대한 충성도, 도서관 방문빈도에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 이용자들은 대략 6 : 4의 비율로 전자저널을 선호하고, 이용 및 검색, 접근의 편리성을 전자저널 선호의 주된 이유로 들었다. 전자저널의 서비스품질의 각 차원은 고객만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 무료이용지각은 유의수준 .1에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 고객만족은 충성도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 도서관 방문빈도에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the user behaviors of the electronic journal users and the influences of service quality of electronic journals on the customer satisfactions, customer loyalty, and frequency of visit to the library building. Approximately 60 percent of users prefer e-journal to printed formats. Service quality of electronic journal was measured by four dimensions: reliability of service, convenience of service, public relations, and user instructions. 100 faculty members and 267 graduate school students were surveyed using questionnaires. It was concluded that each dimensions of service quality positively influenced on the customer satisfactions, and customer satisfaction positively influenced on loyalty, and negatively on frequency of visit to the library building.

최근에 이르러 차세대 웹 아키텍처인 시멘틱 웹에 관한 연구와 투자에 대한 관심이 계속해서 증대되고 있다. 정보학적인 관점에서, 차세대 웹 아키텍처인 시멘틱 웹은 하나의 거대한 메타데이터 조직으로 볼 수 있다. 시멘틱 웹을 거대한 메타데이터 조직으로 볼 수 있는 가장 큰 이유는, 시멘틱 웹을 구축과정에서 가장 중요한 단계 중 하나가 웹 정보자원에 대한 정형화된 메타데이터를 작성하는 것이기 때문이며, 이용자는 메타데이터를 이용하여 보다 쉽게 자신이 원하는 정보를 찾을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는, 시멘틱 웹 환경 하에서 서로 다른 정보체계구조를 지닌 개방형 전자도서관간의 상호운영성을 제공하기 위하여 새로운 방식의 응용프로화일 메타데이터구조를 개발하였다. 새로운 방식의 응용프로화일 메타데이터구조를 토대로, 개방형도서관모델에서 서로 다른 형태의 대규모 메타데이터를 통합하기 위한 공동서지목록 자동생성 및 통합검색 알고리즘을 개발하였다.
Abstract
Recently there has been a growing interest in the investigation and development of the next generation web - the Semantic Web. From the perspective of a information science, the next generation web - Semantic Web is a metadata initiative. It is reason that One of important stage of Semantic Web Construction is adding formal metadata that describes a Web resource's content and so people can find easy material using metadata. In this paper, We designed new application profile metadata architecture as a way to serve as interoperability between various open digital libraries using different information architecture in Semantic Web environment. Based on new application profile metadata architecture, we developed union catalog automatic generation and union search algorithm to integrate heterogeneous huge-scale metadata in open digital library.

본 연구는 어린이 도서관 서비스 제공자인 사서와 어린이 이용자의 전자책 인식 및 이용을 살펴보고 서비스 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 5개 어린이 도서관에 근무하는 사서 55명을 대상으로 전자책에 대한 인식과 이용, 서비스 현황, 개선 사항을 파악하였다. 또한 동일한 도서관의 어린이 이용자 30명을 선정하여 전자책에 대한 인식과 이용행태를 조사하였다. 두 집단의 전자책에 대한 인식과 이용행태를 비교 분석하였으며, 어린이 도서관의 전자책 서비스 개선 방안으로 전자책 콘텐츠와 공간 및 시설의 충분한 제공, 이용자 교육 프로그램 개발과 적극적인 전자책 서비스 홍보, 전자책 담당 사서의 전문성을 개발할 수 있는 프로그램 제공의 필요성을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study are to investigate the perception and use of e-books by librarians and children and to suggest important elements to improve e-book services at the children's libraries. User survey questionaries and interviews from fifty five librarians and thirty children were carried for the perceptions and the use of e-books at five children's libraries. Based upon the data analysis from two groups, three important elements for improving e-book services of the libraries were suggested as follows: providing enough e-book contents, facilities and spaces, developing e-book user education programs with proactive pubic relations, and providing professional continuing education programs regarding e-books to librarians.

본 논문에서는 OpenURL을 이용한 전자자원 링킹시스템의 개요를 기술하고 있다 이어서 16개의 OpenURL link resolver를 선정해서 서버설치여부, 보유하고 있는 저널종수, 서비스 커스터마이제이션, 사용통계서비스 등을 기준으로 비교분석하였다. 분석결과는 각 도서관 및 유관기관에서 링킹시스템을 구입 또는 구축해서 이용할 경우 자관에 맞는 시스템을 선정하는데 도움이 될 것이다.
Abstract
This study describes the concept of link resolvers using OpenURL. Then, the study analyzed the commercially available link resolvers in terms of remote & local hosting, title list, customization of the services and usage statistics. The results will help the libraries select the appropriate link resolvers that are relevant to the features of the libraries.

전자정보가 일반화되면서 전자정보 사용에 대한 이해가 절실해졌다. 본 논문은 전자정보의 이용통계가 무엇인지, 이 통계가 도서관 의사결정에 어떻게 사용될 수 있는지 그리고 데이터의 수집, 처리 및 분석과 관련된 제반 사항에 대해 기술하고 있다. 또한 이용통계와 관련된 대표적인 표준을 제시한다. 전자정보 이용 통계는 개별 도서관에서 활용하는 자료가 될 뿐 아니라 문헌정보학의 여러 분야에서 활용될 수 있는 연구 자료가 된다는 측면에서 이용통계를 사용하는 구체적인 연구방향을 제시하고 있다.
Abstract
As the use of electronic information sources becomes increasingly common, the need for understanding their use becomes critical. This paper describes what usage statistics of electronic materials entail, how they can be used for a variety of library decision making, and the process in which the data can be best acquired, processed, analyzed and presented. It also offers a general introduction to on-going standardization efforts related to usage statistics of electronic resources and services. Some of the research opportunities that these newly developed data sources present to library and information science field are identified.
