웹기반 온라인목록의 이용자 인터페이스는 이용자에게 더욱 친근하게 개선되었는가. 웹기반 온라인목록이 제공하는 탐색관련 기능은 어떠한가. 이용자들은 웹기반 온라인목록을 이용하는 데 어려움은 없는가. 이용자들은 웹기반 온라인목록에 대하여 어떤 인식을 가지고 있는가. 이런 문제에 대한 답을 통하여 웹기반 온라인목록의 검색도구로서의 문제점을 파악하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. 실험연구를 수행하였으며, 30명의 탐색자가 실험에 참여하였다. 탐색자가 웹기반 온라인목록을 실제로 탐색하는 과정중에 보이는 행태를 분석하여 데이터를 입수하였고, 탐색 후 질문지를 통하여 시스템에 대한 인식을 측정하였다.
Abstract
The primary questions addressed by this research are the followings : Has the interface of a Web-based OPAC been improved more user-friendly; How about its searching abilities; What difficulties have Web-based OPAC searchers experienced in using a Web OPAC; How do they perceive the system after use of it. Finding the answers of those questions the problems of a Web OPAC as a searching tool have been grasped and recommendations have been suggested in order to improve the system. An experiment was conducted and 30 university students performed 8 searching tasks. The searching behavior of Web OPAC searchers has been analyzed thoroughly. The data of their perceptions about the system was collected through a questionnaire after completing the tasks.

본 연구는 2년제 전문대학 학생들을 대상으로 웹기반 온라인목록의 이용특성을 조사 연구한 것이다. 연구방법으로 이용자들의 특성을 분석하기 위하여 질문지법과 면접조사법을 통해 데이터를 수집하였으며, 수집된 데이터의 처리는 통계처리 프로그램인 SPSSWIN 10.1을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 이용행태, 검색결과 만족도, 웹 온라인목록의 선호도, 검색어 선정, 문헌정보학 전공자와 비전공자 간의 탐색성과 차이, 웹 온라인목록의 이용자교육의 필요성 등에 관한 결과를 얻었다. 이러한 분석결과를 근거로 하여 웹 온라인목록 이용 중에 발생하는 문제점과 어려움을 느끼는 기능들에 대해 개선방안을 제시하여 이용자들로 하여금 웹 온라인목록 이용의 효율성을 돕고자 하였다.
Abstract
The aims of this study is to analyse the user's behavior, satisfaction, difficulties and selection of retrieval keywords for the use of Web-based OPAC in the College students. The methods of the questionnaire and the interview was applied to get the data and processed by using SPSSWIN 10.1. Several research results was proved the hypothesis such as differences between major subject of students in their fields. Furthermore, based on the result of this analysis, another purpose is to come up with the improvements of functions prompting difficulties and answers to problems found in the Web OPAC, helping them to use the Web OPAC efficiently.

도서관 이용자에게 장애가 없는 정보서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 OPAC의 접근성, 사용성 및 검색성을 향상시키고, 도서의 검색, 식별 및 브라우징의 도구로써 ISBN의 활용가치를 높이는 것이 필요하다. 북마크릿은 웹브라우저의 ‘즐겨찾기에 추가’ 또는 ‘툴바’에 드래그하여 저장할 수 있는 작은 크기의 자바스크립트이다. 그리고 오픈소스인 북마크릿은 웹페이지에서 ISBN을 추출한 다음, 해당 ISBN으로 도서관의 OPAC에서 도서를 검색할 수 있는 간단하지만 강력한 검색도구이다. 해외의 도서관 시스템 벤더, 도서관, OCLC 등은 이용자가 온라인서점의 웹페이지를 살펴보면서 동시에 도서관의 소장 및 대출 정보를 실시간으로 검색할 수 있는 북마크릿을 제공하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 해외에서 개발되어 활용되고 있는 네 가지 유형의 북마크릿에 대한 적용사례 분석을 통해 북마크릿의 특징과 장단점을 정리하였다. 이를 통해서 북마크릿의 기본요건과 적용모델을 도출하고, 국내 도서관의 OPAC과 온라인서점에서 북마크릿을 활용한 Library Lookup 서비스 제공방안을 제안하였다.
Abstract
It is required to enhance the value of ISBN as a tool for book search, identification, and browsing, and improve the accessability and search capability of library OPAC. Bookmarklet is a small size javascript which can be saved as URL in a web browser bookmark or web page hyperlink. Open source bookmarklet can extract ISBN from web pages and search a book from library OPAC using the ISBN, so it is recognized as a simple but powerful search tool. In foreign countries, commercial library system vendors, libraries, OCLC, etc. are providing bookmarklets which allow a user to search for library holdings and loan information in a real time while he/she is travelling in an online bookshop web page. Therefore, this paper compared and analyzed international bookmarklets application examples and proposed LibraryLookup service in which library OPAC and online bookshop can make use of the bookmarklets.

본 연구는 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템과 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템을 구축하고 두 실험시스템의 사용성을 비교 평가하여 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템의 유용성을 밝히고자 하였다. 사용성은 전체적으로 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 일반 검색시스템 보다 온라인목록의 Open API 기반 메타 검색시스템이 더 높게 나타났고, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 국내 도서관들이 인터넷서점, 검색엔진, 웹포털 등에서 공개한 도서검색용 Open API를 통해 제공되는 풍부한 콘텐트를 온라인목록에서 공유하고 활용하면 서지데이터의 확충, 주제접근과 주제검색 능력의 확대, 메타 검색서비스의 확장, 소장도서의 이용가능성 증대, 목록비용의 절감 등에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is aimed to clarify the usefulness of meta search system using Open API of library online catalog by constructing OPAC-based search system using Open API of library online catalog and meta search system using Open API of library online catalog, and comparing the usability of the two experimental search systems. As for usability, on the whole, it was higher in meta search system using Open API of library online catalog than OPAC-based search system using Open API of library online catalog, and there was statistically significant difference. Therefore, if libraries share and use enriched content which is provided through Open API for book search, which is opened by Internet bookstores, search engines and Web portals, it is expected that it will be helpful in enhancing bibliographic data, expanding subject access point, empowering subject search ability, extending meta search service, improving book availability, and reducing catalog cost.
