본 연구에서는 가톨릭교회에서 생산되는 기록물 중 생산 비중이 높고 중요하게 여겨지고 있는 ‘성사 기록물’에 초점을 맞추어 성사 기록물을 체계적으로 관리․보존할 수 있도록 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 활용한 가톨릭교회 기록관리시스템을 구축하는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 각종 가톨릭교회의 규정과 참고문헌, 오픈소스 소프트웨어 홈페이지를 분석하였고 천주교 대구대교구의 주교좌 성당인 G성당을 대상으로 인터뷰를 진행하여 가톨릭교회의 기록관리 현황을 조사하였다. 조사한 내용을 바탕으로 성사 기록물의 특성을 반영한 4가지 기술계층 및 기술계층별 메타데이터 구조, 전거 데이터를 설계하였으며 이를 기반으로 오픈소스를 활용한 기록관리시스템에 실험적으로 구현하기 위해 적합한 오픈소스 기록관리시스템으로 AtoM을 선정하여 설계한 내용을 적용하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to develop a records management system for catholic churches that use open-source software to ensure systemic management and preservation of sacrament records, which accounts for the highest percentage among all records produced by catholic churches and holds great significance for them. To that end, the researcher analyzed catholic church regulations and reference materials, as well as the websites of open-source software. The researcher also interviewed members at the G Cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Daegu, to examine the current status of records management at catholic churches. Based on the investigation, the researcher designed four layers of metadata and authority data that reflected the characteristics of the sacramental records. Then the design was experimentally implemented using AtoM, an open-source records management system.

연구․이용․수정․재배포를 허용하는 오프소스 소프트웨어(OSS)는 경쟁이 아닌 협력과 공유를 통해 발전해 나가는 도서관 정신과 유사하다. OSS는 사서들의 창의적 아이디어와 표준 업무프로세스를 기반으로 저비용 기술혁신을 실현할 수 있는 대안으로 평가되고 있으나, 지속적 발전을 위해서는 경험과 지식을 공유하는 성숙한 커뮤니티 정신이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 커뮤니티 중심의 OSS ILS 사례인 KOHA와 Next_L을 심층 분석하고 이를 기반으로 국내 OSS ILS의 실현 방안을 제안하였다. 우리나라의 경우 관종별 도서관 컨소시엄을 중심으로 중소규모 도서관을 위한 OSS ILS 개발을 추진해 나가는 것이 바람직해 보인다. 그러나 아직 생소한 OSS ILS 필요성에 대한 현장의 공감대 형성, 커뮤니티 활성화를 위한 기운의 성숙이 전제되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The idea behind Open Source Software(OSS) that permits users to study, change, and improve, is similar to the spirit of the library that has been developed through cooperations and resource sharing rather than competition. OSS is regarded as an alternative, low-cost technical innovation based on librarian’s creative idea and standardized business process. Enthusiasm of the community is fundamental to successful installations and sustainable development. This study analyzed two community-based OSS ILS, namely KOHA and Next_L and suggested a future direction for domestic libraries. In the case of Korea, it is desirable for a library consortium to develop an OSS ILS for small- and medium-sized libraries. Most importantly, strong consensus about OSS ILS among the practiting librarians should be developed first.

웹을 통해 제공되는 서비스는 현재 문서중심에서 데이터 중심으로 변화를 겪고 있으며, 그 변화의 중심에는 Linked Open Data(LOD)가 존재한다. 본 연구는 이러한 흐름에 부응하여 기록정보의 LOD 구축을 위한 구체적인 절차와 방법을 살펴보고자 하였다. 또한 소규모 아카이브의 서비스 지속가능성을 염두에 두고, 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 활용하여 LOD 구축 절차를 진행하는 범례를 제시하고자 했다. 이에 본 연구에서는 LOD 구축을 위한 5단계의 프레임워크를 제안했다. 그리고 일상아카이브인 ‘인간과 기억 아카이브’의 일기 기록물 컬렉션을 수집하여, 제안된 5단계 프레임워크에 따라 오픈소스 소프트웨어인 Protege와 Apache Jena Fuseki를 활용하여 POC(Proof of concept)를 진행하였다. 오픈소스를 활용하여 기록정보의 LOD를 구축한 뒤, 상호연결(Interlinking)과 SPARQL 검색을 통해서 외부 LOD와 연결되는 모습을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 기록정보의 LOD 구축 절차 진행과정의 경험을 바탕으로 내용정보 기술의 품질 향상, 아키비스트의 역량 고도화, 기록정보의 접근성 향상을 위한 상호연결 고도화, LOD 서비스의 수준 결정, LOD 구축을 위한 도구 선정 등, 기록관 LOD 구축을 위한 필요요건을 제시했다.
Abstract
Recently, the web service environment has changed from document-centered to data-oriented focus, and the Linked Open Data(LOD) exists at the core of the new environment. Specific procedures and methods were examined to build the LOD of records information in accordance with this trend. With the service sustainability of small-scale archive in consideration, an exemplification on LOD building process by utilizing open source software was developed in this paper. To this end, a 5-step service framework for LOD construction was proposed and applied to a collection of diary records from ‘Human and Memory Archive’. Proof of Concept(POC) utilizing open source softwares, Protege and Apache Jena Fuseki, was conducted according to the proposed 5 step framework. After establishing the LOD of record information by utilizing the open source software, the connection with external LOD through interlinking and SPARQL search has been successfully performed. In addition, archives’ considerations for LOD construction, including improvement on the quality of content information, the role of the archivist, were suggested based on the understanding obtained through the LOD construction process of records information.
