본 연구에서는 P대학도서관 이용자 만족도와 요구사항 등을 설문조사를 통해 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 CRM기법을 적용하여 이용자의 요구를 충족시킬 수 있는 방안을 마련하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 P대학 구성원을 대상으로 응답자 기본정보, 소장자료, 자료이용, 홈페이지, 이용자서비스, 시설/환경의 6가지 영역으로 구성하여 설문조사를 실시하여 분석하였다. 연구결과를 요약해 보면 첫째, 만족도조사에서 자료이용 부분이 가장 높게 나타났고, 시설환경 부분이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 자료이용에서는 희망도서 신청 자료를 신속히 구입 및 정리하여 제공하고, 예약도서에 대한 캠퍼스 간 대출이 필요하다. 둘째, 홈페이지에서는 OPAC의 검색시스템과 예약시스템 기능 개선이 필요하고, 자주 이용하는 기능에 대한 메뉴 재배치도 필요하다. 셋째, 이용자서비스에서는 도서관 행사를 더욱 확대하고, 문제점으로 지적되는 행사 안내와 홍보를 강화할 수 있는 방안(SMS, Push 등)을 마련할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 시설환경에서는 개인 및 그룹 학습공간의 부족, 사물함 부족, 환기 및 냉난방 관리 문제, 화장실 시설관리 불만 (휴지 부족 등) 도서관의 지리적 접근성 부족, 외부이용자 관리 등에 대한 불만을 개선할 수 있는 정책이 필요하다.
Abstract
The user satisfaction and needs of an academic library were caught through a questionnaire survey in this study. The aim of this study is to draw up the CRM based plan for meeting user needs on the study. The users’ demographic information, library resources & their use, homepage, services, and facilities/environment of the library were categorized in the questionnaire and analyzed for this study. The major conclusions of this study are: ⑴ The library resources use was the highest, and its facilities/environment was the lowest in the user satisfaction study. It also revealed that there are much necessities for the quick acquisition and dissemination of the requested material to the library users, and for the inter-library loan (ILL) services among campuses for the subscription books in the library resources use study, too; ⑵ There are a lot of necessities for the improvement of OPAC retrieval and the subscription books system, and menu rearrangement in the library homepage; ⑶ There are a lot of necessities for the plans of more frequent library event, more detailed event guidance, and more reinforcement of public relations such as SMS, push services of SDI etc. in the library user services; and ⑷ There are a lot of necessities for the improved policies to the complaints of library users such as the lack of common study place and lockers, air conditioning and heating problem, complaints about facilities management of restroom (lack of toilet paper), library accessibility on campus, unauthorized user management etc. in the facilities/environment of the library.

본 연구는 법학전문도서관이 제 역할과 기능을 할 수 있도록 실질적인 평가 내용을 다루어 법학전문도서관의 역할과 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하였다. 특히 법학전문도서관 사서들을 대상으로 그들의 의견을 수렴하여, 평가항목을 도출하였고, 법학전문도서관의 주 이용계층인 법학전문대학원 학생들을 대상으로 그들의 요구를 조사하고 분석하였다. 특히 독립적이고, 전문적으로 법학전문도서관을 위한 평가를 지향하였다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있으며, 법학전문도서관의 건물과 시설 그리고 소장자료의 양과 함께 소장자료의 질, 법학도서관 사서의 기능과 역할 그리고 이용자의 만족도를 증진시키며, 외적인 면과 함께 법학전문도서관의 내실을 갖추는 것을 목적으로 하였다.
Abstract
This study investigated factors and issues for law school library evaluation. Also, this study suggested the roles and guidelines for law school libraries to perform its own role and function. To carry out the research, surveys were conducted with the law librarians. Then surveys were conducted to investigate law school students' demands and behaviors. Especially this study evaluated law libraries which were not carried out independently and professionally until now and meaningful as it thoroughly investigated users' demands and behavior with law school libraries and function and roles of law librarians. To facilitate law school library services and functions, quality of the collections, librarians' role, and users' needs should be considered as well as buildings and physical facilities. Particularly, users' needs assessment and librarians' opinion survey will be imperative in implementing evaluation.

최근 수년 동안 영상자료와 음성자료 분석에 대한 이론들이 텍스트자료 검색 시스템과 함께 사용되기 위해서 제안 되어 왔으며 데이터 처리 속도의 급격한 향상과 함께 발전되어 왔다. 일반적 검색 방법들은 단지 텍스트만을 사용하지만 텍스트와 그림을 동시에 사용하는 검색 방법 또한 최근에 제안되어 왔다. 본 연구는 다매체자료의 공통기술표현포맷(CRFMD)이라는 이름으로 화상자료와 텍스트자료를 하나의 자료 구조로 통합하는 방법을 제안하고 있으며, 주어진 테스트자료에 대한 화상자료의 유사성 분석에서 텍스트와 그림의 형태소를 함께 사용하였을 때 현격히 개선되어 짐을 보여주고 있다. CRFMD는 의료문서 검색, WWW 검색, 박물관 소장품 검색과 같은 다양한 분야의 다매체자료 검색 및 처리에 응용될 수가 있을 것이다.
Abstract
In recent years, theories of image and sound analysis have been proposed to work with text retrieval systems and have progressed quickly with the rapid progress in data processing speeds. This study proposes a common representation format for multimedia documents (CRFMD) composed of both images and text to form a single data structure. It also shows that image classification of a given test set is dramatically improved when text features are encoded together with image features. CRFMD might be applicable to other areas of multimedia document retrieval and processing, such as medical image retrieval, World Wide Web searching, and museum collection retrieval.

인터넷시대가 되면서 정보량이 기하급수적으로 증가하였으며, 도서관 소장 자료 중 전자형태의 자료가 차지하는 비중이 점차 증가함에 따라 최신 정보자료의 신속한 입수 및 활용이 그 어느 때보다 중요시 되는 시기가 되었다. 디지털 도서관에서 이러한 요구를 충족시킬 수 있도록 최신 정보자료를 신속하고 정확하게 최종 이용자에게 제공할 수 있는 방법 중의 하나가 SDI서비스라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 웹의 등장으로 중요성이 부각된 SDI 서비스의 국내 대학에서의 활용 현황을 설문조사를 통하여 조사 분석하고, 개선방안 및 정보서비스 제공범위 확대 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.
Abstract
As commercialization of the Internet has brought flood of information and the proportion of electronic source in the library collection has been gradually increasing, it is highly important for the library to quickly obtain and utilize the latest information. SDI service is expected to fulfill the needs providing the latest information swiftly and accurately to the digital library users. This study seeks to analyze the current standing of practical application of the SDI service in the universities of South Korea based on surveys and make a proposal on the advancement and extension of the SDI service.

본 연구에서는 해외 비영리기관의 학술 데이터베이스를 도입하기 위해 학술 데이터베이스 현황을 조사하고 그 품질을 평가한 뒤, 실제적인 도입가능성과 방법을 제시한다. 특히 지금까지 국내에서 공동 활용이 불가능한 비영어권 국가의 해외 비영리기관 소장 학술 데이터베이스를 제공함으로써 기존의 학술 데이터베이스와는 다른 차원의 다양한 유형의 자료 발굴 및 자료 범위 확대를 목적으로 한다. 이러한 목적하에 진행된 본 연구는 지금까지 영리기관의 상용 데이터베이스에 거의 의존해왔던 해외 정보 자료수집과정을 저비용-고효율 구조로 개선시켜, 학술 연구의 생산성을 제고시킬 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to delve into the academic databases of overseas nonprofit organizations, to assess their quality and to discuss whether or not it's possible to introduce them in the nation and in which way that could be done. And it's also attempted to provide information on the academic databases of nonprofit organizations in nonEnglish-speaking countries in a bid to prepare a wide variety of academic materials about broader fields that would be distinguished from those offered by existing academic databases, since it's not currently possible to take advantage of academic materials possessed by such nations. The efforts by this study was expected to gather international information at a lower cost and in a more efficient way and eventually to contribute to improving the productivity of academic research.

미래 도서관의 패러다임이 정보소장에서 정보접근으로 변화됨에 따라 도서관상호협력과 문헌제공서비스의 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 이를 위하여 개별 도서관들은 자료의 구입예산을 절감하고 도서관정보서비스의 질적인 향상을 물론 이용자의 정보서비스에 대한 만족도를 제고한다는 점에서 문헌제공서비스의 활용은 상당한 장점이 있다. 본 연구는 문헌제공서비스의 효과적인 수행과 이용을 위한 국내 이용자들의 문헌제공서비스 트랜잭션 데이터 분석을 통하여 문헌제공서비스의 이용추이와 동향을 예측하고, 여기에 나타난 그들의 요구변화를 검토하여 국내 도서관 및 정보센터의 문헌제공서비스의 질적인 향상과 이용자 만족도 제고에 사용할 수 있는 근거 자료를 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 KISTI-DDS의 실제 이용데이터를 활용하여 문헌제공서비스의 연도별, 지역별, 이용계층별 차이를 분석하였으며, 자료유형별 복사추이도 관찰하였다. 또한 이용자들이 원문복사를 제공하는 복사제공기관과 원문입수방법을 검토하고 연도별, 이용계층별로 의미있는 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the usage patterns of document delivery services of domestic users based on usage transaction data about photocopying services of KISTI-DDS that the most important document delivery organization in Korea. For the purpose of this study, it was investigated the number of processed document, type of favorite documents, ordering coverage for photocopying, delivery methods of photocopying documents for users in DDS(document delivery service) through transaction data of DDS during the past 4 years from 2000 to 2003.

본 연구는 6시그마 DMAIC 방법론의 정의(Define)와 측정(Measure) 단계의 기법들을 활용하여 대학도서관 멀티미디어 서비스 개선에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수들을 도출하였다. 이를 위하여 S대학교 중앙학술정보관의 사례를 중심으로 현장 사서들의 브레인스토밍, X-Y Matrix와 특성요인도 작성, 도서관 홈페이지를 통한 이용자 의견 분석, 이용자 인터뷰 등을 통하여 대학도서관 멀티미디어 서비스의 프로세스를 분석하고, 핵심 품질특성을 지표화하였다. 그리고 Process Map과 특성요인도를 통하여 멀티미디어 서비스에 영향을 미치는 잠재원인변수들을 도출하고, 도출한 잠재원인변수를 X-Y Matrix와 Pareto Chart에 의하여 우선순위화하여 멀티미디어 서비스에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인으로 ‘자료 선정 전담자 유무’, ‘자료 선정주기’, ‘독립된 멀티미디어실 운영 유무’, ‘자료 배가 방법’, ‘인기자료 안내 여부’, ‘입수자료 통보 여부’, ‘신간 자료 안내 방법’, ‘구입주문 처리 방법’, ‘주문자료 진행사항 점검 주기’, ‘자료 신청자 유형’, ‘자료 신청 방법’, ‘반납 시 자료 상태 점검 여부’, ‘소장자료 목록 안내 방법’, ‘연체자료 회수방법’의 14개 변수를 도출하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the process of multimedia services and indexed the core quality characteristics through the tools employed in ‘Define’ and ‘Measure’ steps of the 6 Sigma DMAIC methodology. To achieve the goal, as a case study of ‘S’ University Central Library, first, brainstorming technique was used to tap the librarians, second, interview with the half-time student workers, third, user’s opinion on homepage was analyzed and lastly, the interview with the users. This study also drew some potential causal factors which would likely to affect the multimedia service using Process Map and C&E Diagram. Those factors were prioritized using X-Y matrix and Pareto Chart. This study revealed 14 factors affecting multimedia services: ‘presence/absence of the persons who are in charge of selection’, ‘cycle of selection materials’, ‘presence/absence of seperated multimedia room’, ‘materials arrangement method’, ‘notification of popular materials’, ‘notification of documents arrivals’, ‘methods of noticing new arrivals’, ‘methods of ordering materials’, ‘cycle of checking order status’, ‘types of persons requesting materials’, ‘methods of requesting materials’, ‘checking of the status of the returned materials’, ‘methods of noticing materials in housed’, and ‘methods of ways to return overdue materials’.

공공도서관의 이용 및 정보서비스의 질을 제고하는데 있어 이용자들의 사서에 대한 인식이 중요한 측면이 될 수 있으며, 따라서 이용자들의 사서에 대한 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 무엇인지에 대한 확인이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공공도서관을 중심으로 이용자들의 사서에 대한 일반적인 인식 및 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 설문조사를 통해 실증적으로 확인하였다. 분석 결과, 도서관 소장자료와 설비의 이용, 도서관을 통한 동아리 활동 참여는 사서에 대한 긍정적인 인식 형성에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 사서의 역할은 정보적 활동에서 사회적 활동을 지원해 주는 방향으로 확대되는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 공공도서관 프로그램 참여나 소장자료의 대출, 사서와의 커뮤니케이션 등 사서와의 직접적인 교류가 이루어지는 요인들이 사서에 대한 인식 형성에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않고 있으며, 따라서 사서의 이용자에 대한 고려가 보다 실제적으로 반영될 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
Public library users’ perception of librarians can be an important aspect in improving the public library uses and the quality of informn services. Thus it is necessary to identify what factors affect users’ perceptions of librarians. This research empirically investigated users’ general perceptions of librarians and the factors affecting them through a survey. As a result, it was found that the use of library collections, library facilities, and participation in club activities through the library affect the formation of a positive perception of librarians. In addition, the roles of the librarian are expanding from informational activities to supporting social activities. In contrast, the factors of direct interaction with the librarian, including participation in public library programs, circulating library collections, and communication with librarian, do not have a significant effect on the formation of the perception of librarian. Thus librarians need to consider library users more substantially and to support them in various ways.

본 연구는 국내에서 서비스되는 대체자료 장서 수준을 진단하고 향후 대체자료 장서개발의 방향성과 목표지향점을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 국가대체자료종합목록과 국내 인기도서 및 신간도서 목록을 장서기반 평가방법을 활용하여 비교․분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 10년간 인기도서 목록 기준 대체자료 장서 비율은 90.1%이다. ‘언어’, ‘예술’, ‘기술과학’ 주제의 대체자료 장서 비율이 낮은 편이며, 제작 매체별은 ‘텍스트 데이지자료’의 비율이 높았다. 둘째, 국가대체자료종합목록을 기준으로 주제별, 매체별, 제작기관별 공통장서 확보율과 장서고유성 지수를 분석한 결과 대체자료의 소장 장서량이 많은 도서관에서 공통장서와 고유장서의 편향성이 높게 나타났다. 공통장서 확보율이 높은 주제는 문학과 사회과학 순이며, 장서고유성 지수가 높은 주제는 종교, 예술, 언어 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 최근 3년간 신간도서의 대체자료 장서 비율은 5.09%이며 같은 기간 동안 공공도서관의 평균 도서구입율은 8.83%이다. 신간도서 대비 대체자료 장서 비율의 적정 기준은 존재하지 않으며 시각장애인의 정보격차 해소를 위해 신간도서 대비 대체자료 장서 비율을 공공도서관 도서구입율 수준으로 높일 것을 제언하고자 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to diagnose the current status of alternative materials in Korea and to suggest directions and goals for the development of alternative materials. The comprehensive list of national alternative materials and the list of popular and new books were analyzed using the collection evaluation method. Results first the percentage of alternative material collections based on the popular book list for 10 years is 90.1%. The production rate of alternative materials is low in the subjects of ‘Language’, ‘Art’ and ‘Technology and Science’. Most of the service formats were ‘text only daisy’. Second, the CCHR(Common Collection Holding Ratio) and CUI(Collection Uniqueness index) of alternative materials were analyzed using the union catalog. Libraries with a large volume of books have a high proportion of CCHR and CUI. Topics with the highest CCHR are ‘Literature’ and ‘Social Science’. The subjects with the highest collection uniqueness index are ‘religion’, ‘art’, and ‘language’. Third, the replacement ratio of new books for 3 years is 5.09%. During the same period, the average book purchase rate of public libraries was 8.83%. The average book purchase rate in public libraries is 8.83%, and it is necessary to increase the collection rate of alternative materials based on this ratio.

본 연구는 충북대표도서관의 건립 기본계획 수립을 위한 기초연구이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 충청북도의 지역 여건을 조사하고, 전국 공공도서관과 주요 대표도서관의 소장 자료 현황, 이용 현황, 직원 수, 프로그램 현황 등을 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 SWOT 분석을 실시하여 충북대표도서관의 건립 기본계획을 위한 비전과 목표, 추진전략을 도출하였다. 연구 결과를 기반으로 충북대표도서관이 수행해야 하는 사명은 “지식과 문화의 교차로, 도민의 삶과 동행하며 함께 성장하는 도서관”으로 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study is a foundational research for establishing the basic plan of the Chungcheongbuk-do Central Library. The research investigates the regional conditions of Chungcheongbuk-do and the status of collections, usage, staff, and programs of public libraries nationwide and major representative libraries. Based on this, a SWOT analysis was conducted to derive the vision, goals, and implementation strategies for establishing the basic plan of the Chungcheongbuk-do Central Library. Based on the research findings, the mission of the Chungcheongbuk-do Central Library is presented as “The library that grows alongside the lives of local residents, intersecting knowledge and culture.”
