본 연구는 독서공간으로서의 학교도서관에 주목하고 독서를 위한 학교도서관 이용 시 공간특성 요소에 대한 중학생 이용자의 인식을 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 선행연구와 예비 연구를 통해 공간특성 요소를 선정하고 각 공간특성 요소에 대해 학생들이 중요하게 생각하는 정도와 충족하는 정도를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리고 이용자의 인식이 이용현황 및 학교도서관 독서활동 경험에 따라 차이가 있는지 살펴보았으며, 학교도서관 이용자 만족도와 지속이용의도에 영향을 미치는지 파악하였다. 더불어 공간특성 요소의 인식이 지속이용의도에 영향을 미치는데 있어 학교도서관 이용자 만족도가 매개 역할을 하는지 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중학교 4곳에 재학 중인 342명의 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 공간특성 요소 중 소통성, 다양성, 안전성, 편의성에 대한 이용자의 인식이 이용현황에 따라 차이를 보였으며, 소통성, 쾌적성, 분위기가 이용자 만족도에, 심미성과 소통성이 지속이용의도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이 중 소통성, 쾌적성, 분위기는 학교도서관 이용자 만족도를 매개하여 지속이용의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 독서를 위한 공간으로서 학교도서관을 조사함으로써 학생들의 독서 지원을 위한 방안을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to understand students’ perceptions of the spatial characteristics of school libraries when they use them for reading. We selected a set of spatial characteristics by reviewing the literature and conducting a preliminary investigation. Then, we examined how students perceived the importance of and how satisfied they were with each characteristic. In addition, we investigated how students’ perceptions differ by the library uses and reading-related activities. We also studied whether the satisfaction of school library users affects their continued use of the libraries. We also verified whether school library user satisfaction is an intervening variable in continued-use intention, which is affected by spatial characteristics perception. We conducted a survey of 342 students from four middle schools. The analysis of the survey outcomes shows differences in library use due to spatial characteristics such as convenience, communicability, diversity, and safety. Factors such as communicability, comfortability, and ambience affected user satisfaction positively. Both aesthetics and communicability also positively influenced the continued-use intention. Furthermore, we identified that communicability, comfortability, and ambience eventually impacted the continued-use intention via user satisfaction, an intervening variable. The significance of this study is that it considered the direction of the school library to support students’ reading by regarding the school library as a space for reading.

대학도서관 발전계획은 외부적으로는 도서관의 역할과 발전 방향에 대한 명시적인 선언이자 내부적으로는 도서관 서비스 제공을 위한 지침으로 기능한다는 점에서 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 발전계획 수립을 위해서는 국제적, 국가적 환경에 대한 이해, 개별 대학과 대학구성원에 대한 이해가 요구된다. 본 연구는 대학도서관과 관련된 국제 환경의 추세를 파악하기 위하여 해외 대학도서관 발전계획 사례를 조사하고, 내용분석과 네트워크 분석을 통해 그 동향을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 대부분의 해외 대학도서관에서는 ‘협업’, ‘컬렉션 개발 및 구축’, ‘연구지원’이라는 키워드를 주축으로 다양한 전략과 세부 계획을 제시하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 향후 대학도서관 발전계획 수립 시 고려해야 하는 사항으로, 발전계획 내 대학도서관의 사명과 비전, 가치의 구체적 명시, 문화적 다양성성과 형평성, 포용성 등의 핵심가치의 중요성 인식, 대학도서관 내외부의 파트너십 및 협업의 중요성 인식, 경영 목적 달성의 도구로서 대학도서관 발전계획의 활용을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The academic library development plan has external importance as it explicitly declares the library’s role and development direction. Internally, it is also a library service guideline. To develop the development plan, libraries must understand the trends and needs of international, national, and affiliating universities and their constituents. Accordingly, this research includes case, content, and network analyses of foreign academic libraries’ development plans to identify the trends. The analysis results show most foreign academic libraries employed various strategies and plans, which can be characterized as ‘collaboration,’ ‘collection development,’ and ‘research support.’ Consequently, we propose the following factors to consider when developing an academic library development plan: specification of mission, vision, and core values; recognition of core values such as diversity, equity, and inclusion; awareness of the significance of collaboration and partnership with other units within the universities and external organizations; and utilization of university library development plans as tools for achieving management objectives.

본 연구는 대학도서관 고객화 연구정보서비스 개념을 확립하고, 사서의 인식을 파악하여 고객화 연구정보서비스 필요성에 대한 공감대 형성 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 문헌조사를 바탕으로 연구정보서비스와 고객화의 정의 및 유형, 연구 동향 등을 정리하였고, 대학도서관의 연구정보서비스를 유형화하였다. 이를 바탕으로 사서 실무자를 대상으로 연구정보서비스 제공 필요성과 고객화 방안 적용 필요성에 대한 의견을 조사하는 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 조사 결과 고객화 방안 적용 필요성 측면에서 사서 응답자들의 합의가 도출된 대학도서관 연구정보서비스 항목은 8가지인 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구는 대학도서관 연구정보서비스의 개선 및 발전을 위해 새로운 시도를 제안하고, 사서의 공감대 형성을 통해 대학도서관의 전문성 및 가치 제고를 도모할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The study aims to establish the concept of customerized research information services in academic libraries and to build librarians’ consensus on the need for customerized research information services. The literature review enabled summarizations of the definition of research information service, customerization, and research trends. A categorization process resulted in a list of research information services of academic libraries. The Delphi method survey revealed the necessity of providing research information services and applying customerization to research information services based on the opinions of librarians. The librarians agreed on eight research information services using customerization services. This study has significance because it proposed new attempts to improve and develop research information services and explored ways to enhance the expertise and value of academic libraries by forming a consensus among librarians.

오늘날 정보환경은 정보이용자로 하여금 도서관 장서뿐만 아니라 다양한 디지털 정보자원으로의 접근을 가능하게 하였다. 변화하는 환경에서 이용률이 증가하는 디지털 정보자원으로 웹사이트, 각종 데이터, 홈페이지 등을 들 수 있다. 이 연구는 ISI Web of Knowledge의 Essential Science Indicators에서 제공하는 인용정보를 이용하여 임상의학 분야의 피인용 횟수가 높은 저자들과 이 저자들의 논문을 인용한 저자들의 홈페이지에 수록된 연구 성과물을 추출한 후, 의학대학 디지털 도서관 및 학술포털과 비교 분석하였다. 10,000여명의 저자 중 연구 성과물 정보를 제시하는 146명의 홈페이지 연구정보를 분석하였는데, 홈페이지에서만 제공하는 연구정보는 학술지 논문, 단행본, 학술대회 발표논문, 강의노트를 포함하였다. 이 중 학술지 논문은 약 15%, 단행본은 약 32%, 학술대회 발표논문은 약 48%, 강의노트는 100% 모두 홈페이지를 통해서만 접근할 수 있는 연구 성과물로 분석되었다. 실제로 의학대학 도서관과 학술포털에서 제공하는 연구정보가 대부분 일치했던 점을 고려할 때, 저명한 연구자들의 홈페이지를 통한 연구정보의 확충이 디지털 도서관 장서개발의 양적, 질적 향상을 위한 방안이 될 수 있다.
Abstract
Nowadays the information environment enables users to access the traditional library collection as well as various digital information resources. In this rapidly changing environment, the use of digital information resources such as web sites, data, and homepages has increased. In this research, highly-cited authors' research outcomes as well as the research outcomes of the people, who cited the highly-cited authors' works, were extracted then compared with information stored in the medical colleges' digital libraries and the academic information portals in the clinical medicine area by using the citation information provided by Essential Science Indicators from ISI Web of Knowledge. Out of 10,000 authors, 146 people's homepages, which present research outcomes, were analyzed. The research outcomes listed in the homepages included journal papers, monographs, conference proceedings, and lecture notes. About 15% of the journal papers, 32% of the monographs, 48% of the conference proceedings, and 100% of lecture notes were accessible only through the homepages. The research outcomes accessible from the homepages were almost analogous to the ones available through the medical college's digital libraries and the academic information portals. Therefore, the digital library collection will be improved and expanded quantitatively and qualitatively by collecting and using the information in the homepages of the prestigious researchers.

본 연구는 교사들의 생활교육에 대한 정보요구와 교육청으로부터 배부되는 교육지침에 대한 교사 인식 간 관계를 밝혀 이를 기반으로 한 학교도서관 정보서비스 제안에 목적을 두었다. 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 연구 모형을 제작하고 설계를 진행하였으며, 예비연구를 통한 심층면담을 분석하여 연구에서 고려할 요소들을 추출하고 설문 문항을 개발하였다. 경기도는 4개 권역으로 나누어지며, 각 권역별 3개 학교에 설문을 실시한 후 최종적으로 217부의 데이터를 최종 분석에 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 학교도서관의 생활교육 정보요구에 대한 관심이 궁극적으로 교사들의 학생생활교육 실태 개선에 영향을 미친다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 학교도서관에서 제공되는 정보서비스를 향상시키는 방법을 제시하였으며, 특히 교사들의 생활지도 정보요구를 학교 내부에서 해결하도록 학교도서관 서비스를 제안했다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to present the relationship between the teachers’ information needs regarding guidance and the perception of educational guidelines issued by the Office of Education. The research design was conducted based on the reviewing theoretical background studies, and questionnaires were found in in-depth semi-structured interviews in a pilot study. Gyeonggi Province is divided into four regions, which is the target of the survey. Teachers of three schools in each region were surveyed, and eventually 217 copies of the survey were used for the final analysis. The result shows that the role of school libraries in caring for teachers’ information needs ultimately influences the improvement of teachers’ guidance. Based on this result, the study suggests ways to improve information services provided by school libraries. In particular, the study is meaningful in that it has presented a potential service plan that can be performed by school libraries to help address teachers’ information needs about guidance in schools.

본 연구는 대학도서관의 서비스 개발을 위해 대학을 둘러싼 환경에 대한 인식에 기반하여 이용자가 가진 정보요구와 정보행위를 탐색하였다. 질적 데이터의 내용분석 결과, 심층면담 참여자들은 사회, 교육, 연구 환경의 변화를 경험하면서, ‘적합성, 최신성, 고유성, 신뢰성, 현장성, 편의성’의 6가지 특성을 띠는 심층적 정보요구를 갖고 있었다. 참여자들은 정보요구를 해결하기 위해 정보매체와 인적자원, 그리고 장소매체를 활용하고 있었다. 이러한 정보행위를 수행하는 가운데, 참여자들의 신분이나 주제분야, 소속대학을 뛰어넘어 공통적으로 겪고 있는 정보문제로서 ‘개개인의 미디어․정보활용역량 차이, 대학간 자원인프라 격차, 저작권과 소통채널의 문제’ 등을 발견하였다. 이에 본 연구는 대학도서관 서비스 방향성으로 ‘개인화된 미디어․정보리터러시 서비스, 정보요구 특성에 부합하는 장소매체로서의 도서관, 인적교류장소로서 자원인프라플랫폼, 접근성 높은 정보매체 활용지원 서비스’를 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study explored the user’s information needs and information behavior for the development of academic library services. The content analysis of qualitative data showed that the in-depth interview participants have six types of information needs such as ‘suitability, up-to-dateness, uniqueness, reliability, practicality, and convenience’ while going through societal, educational, and research-related changes. Interview participants solved their information needs by acquiring the resources necessary for each individual’s task through information behaviors using information media, human resources and the places. Each participant tried to solve his/her information problem through individual efforts based on their different media and information utilization capabilities. Based on the analysis, this study presented four directions in the development of academic library services. They are an personalized information literacy service, a space to meet the characteristics of information needs, an infrastructure platform for exchanging human resources, and an accessible support service for utilizing information media.

본 연구는 중소병원에서 근무하는 보건의료인 중에서도 지금까지 연구 대상으로 채택되지 못한 간호사, 의료기사, 약사의 정보이용행태 및 정보요구를 탐색하여 병원 내 의학도서관의 정보서비스 개선 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이론적 배경과 선행연구 분석을 기반으로 하여 연구 설계를 진행하였으며, 전국의 중소병원에서 근무 중인 간호사, 의료기사, 약사를 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 중소병원 보건의료인의 정보요구 발생 동기와 정보이용행태, 병원 내 의학도서관에 대한 인식을 파악할 수 있었으며, 이를 종합하여 병원 내 의학도서관 정보서비스 개선 방향을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 중소병원에서 근무하는 다양한 보건의료인의 정보이용행태 및 정보요구를 탐색한 초기 시도라는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.
Abstract
This study aims to present directions for improving information services of medical libraries in small and medium-sized hospitals by exploring the information use behavior and information needs of nurses, medical technicians, and pharmacists who had not been studied. The research design was conducted based on the reviewing theoretical background studies, and in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with nurses, medical technicians, and pharmacists working in small and medium-sized hospitals. The results show their information needs, information use behavior, and perceptions of the medical library in the hospital. Based on these results, this study suggests ways to improve the information services provided by medical libraries in hospitals. This research is meaningful because it was first to explore the information use behavior and information needs of health care professionals working in small and medium-sized hospitals.

본 연구는 청소년의 가상 정보 공간에서의 일상적인 활동을 위한 정보 이용 행태에 관해 살펴보았다. 기존의 물리적 정보 공간의 개념을 가상 정보 공간으로 확장하였고, 청소년 시기의 특징을 반영하여 다양한 일상적인 활동과 또래집단을 고려하였다. 이를 위하여 서울시 중고등학생을 대상으로 사전 면담 및 설문조사를 실시하였고, 청소년들의 가상 정보 공간과 정보 이용에 대한 양상을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 학교도서관에서 청소년들을 위한 교육 프로그램 및 서비스 제공 시에 고려할 수 있는 시사점을 제안하였고, 추후 학교도서관에서의 정보 서비스 기획에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study investigates the information use behavior of Korean youths in a virtual information grounds. The concept of a physical information ground is expanded to include virtual spaces. A variety of hobbies and peer groups of Korean youths are considered to determine the characteristics of these youths. The study was formulated and conducted using group interviews for pretest and a survey given to respondents who are junior high and high school students in Seoul. It is expected that the findings and proposals will be used for planning educational programs and information services in school libraries.

본 연구는 도시와 농어촌 각 청소년 집단의 정보 요구를 충족시키는 학교도서관 정보 서비스 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 두 청소년 집단의 일상 정보 행태를 비교하였다. 특히, 두 청소년 집단의 일상에서의 정보 추구 행태뿐만 아니라 정보의 장의 종류와 정보의 장 형성을 방해하는 요인도 함께 비교하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 정보 활용 일지와 반구조적 심층 인터뷰를 이용하여 두 청소년 집단의 일상 정보 행태의 특성을 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 정보 서비스 방안들은 추후에 도시와 농어촌의 학교도서관에서 정보 서비스를 기획하는데 활용될 것이라 기대된다.
Abstract
This study compared the everyday-life information behaviors of urban and rural adolescents to suggest ways that school library information services can better meet the information needs of each of these groups. It focused its comparison not only on the everyday-life information-seeking behaviors but also on kinds of information grounds and barriers forming information grounds. Two qualitative methods, written activity logs and semi-structured in-depth interviews, were used to examine everyday-life information behaviors of adolescents. It is expected that the proposed strategies will be used in planning actual school library information services for urban or rural youths.

장애인의 정보격차해소를 위한 다양한 노력에도 불구하고 장애인 및 잠재적 이용자층의 정보요구 미 파악, 단일화된 정보제공 채널의 미비, 웹 접근성의 낮은 체감 수준 등 다양한 요인들에 의해 장애인의 정보격차 해소는 요원해지고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 장애인과 유관종사자 등 잠재적 이용자층의 장애인분야 웹정보 이용행태를 분석하고, 현재 국내에서 제공되고 있는 장애인분야 웹정보서비스의 이용성을 평가하였다. 나아가 웹정보서비스의 기능 개선 요구사항을 파악하여, 장애인의 정보격차 해소를 위한 새로운 정보서비스 모형으로서의 장애인도서관 포털서비스 구축방안을 제언하였다.
Abstract
In spite of various efforts to resolve digital divide of people with disabilities, it still has a long way to go because there lack of identifying information needs of people with disabilities and potential users including their family and the related, and integrated information channels such as a portal, and so on. In this context, this study aims at analyzing the users’ unique information behavior and evaluating usability of domestic web information services for people with disabilities which are currently serviced. Increasingly, we suggest new functional requirements of building a library portal for people with disabilities.
